So, Syril's age is 35 years, older than I imagined.

 

Seems about right for a middle manager type.

 

Syril being already an adult during the attack on Coruscant can be an interesting story hook. Also maybe he bought his clone figures while already working.

 

Oh wow your right he was already an adult by the clone wars.

 

Sometimes I also feel like this.

Dedra didn't give Syril permission to speak!

 

Yeah, Dedra definitely wears the pants in their relationship. I find it kind of amusing that Syril went from a primary antagonist in the beginning of S1, and now he's basically a house-hubby with a day job. He obviously is rising in the ranks at his job but it doesn't seem to be of any importance to the story yet. I've been thinking about this character because there has to be a good reason why Gilroy continued to follow him despite his failure on Ferrix which resulted in his agency being taken away and his arc seemingly finished. I think there will be more to him (and by proxy, his mother) as this season progresses. Gilroy has something planned for this character that's greater (for better or for worse) than the lowly beta male who is beat down at this point in his life, I can feel it coming.

 

It's obvious Syril Karn becomes Han Solo.

 

If I actually had to guess it’s because he’ll finally realize how terrible the empire is but far to late.

 

I'll predict that Dedra and Syril outlasts Cassian Andor but with an epilogue where Dedra gets laid off with a nice severance package when Tarkin cuts all of Krennic's top-level staff after the events of Scariff, ultimately ending with Syril providing a sweet consolation gift of a getaway just for 2 to the gorgeous mountain ranges of Alderaan, just in time for Tarkin's *ahem* testing of the Death Star.

 

Tarkin will definitely arrange a convenient accident for Dedra, she's far too clever and a threat to his machinations, like Krennic.

 

but for the fact that he is a wannabe fascist, truth. Big but. And not the big buts that can not lie.

 

Dedra might take the fall for Mothma’s rise out of the Ghorman Massacre, similar to Rampart for Kamino.

 

Don't forget, he does know Axis' voice. I feel like that is going to come back in a big way.

 

I hope Syril ends with a nice cushy promotion and an assignment on the Death Star. It’s just what the little fascist deserves.

God Syril/Dedta is the GOAT dysfunctional relationship. "I can't believe you had me followed" as foreplay. The disgust on Dedra's face every time she sees him. The orgasmic joy Syril gets from being a cog in the fascist machine. I would watch an entire show of just the two of them. I can't wait to see where they both end up, I see Syril being an "acceptable loss" that Dedra has to call.

Partagas' reaction to him.

 

Is it just me or are they possibly going with redemption arc with him? Like he might form actual bond with Ghormani and see he is fighting for the wrong side and his own girlfriend/wife is quite literally nazi but he is so used to this since his mother is what she is... I could see this happen. Partagaz don't trust him, neither does Deedra really. I think he is not really like evil, he seems just a bit OCD, or emotionally distant at least. Could say he is maybe on spectrum and his mother relationship is problematic so I think he seems like person who cannot really "love" but who thinks doing the right thing is following the rules. If he would learn how Empire breaks the rules he might actually turn against it. I think he had clone figures in his room in season 1. Maybe this tells he is more of Empire fanboy since he thinks Empire is all about rules and standards, but when he learns about lies and manipulation maybe, just maybe he changes his mind. Just an idea. I like his character.

 

I don’t think traditional redemption is on the table for Syril. I don’t think this is that kind of show. I think he could come to realize what the Empire truly is and regret his part of it but by then it’ll be too late. I honestly could see the last shot of him could be him standing on the Death Star, having achieved everything he wanted but realizing the actual cost of it.
