George Lucas is a flawed human being and so is Dave Filoni. They disagreed time to time. But George dosent care. He still comes when Filoni ask and least expect it. George Lucas even retcon his own stuff from time to time.

Honestly I have no interest in this series.

Ventress should have stayed dead, she works better in the PT era. Didn’t like her appearing in bad batch either.

If they wanted to see her animated after TCW ended, we should have just got the Dark Disciple episodes in animated form. Giving her a satisfying conclusion.

Now we hav another ex-Jedi running around the dark times….

It also makes nightsister magic seem more powerful then the regular dark side and the force in general.

The nightsisters magic has always been special and powerful and now its tied to the Mortis Gods and Abeloth

    My only hope is…..

    1. We eventually get an explanation on HOW nightsister magic brought her back. Is this a common thing in there history? Or a rarity?

    2. She doesn’t become another Ashoka, living into the New Republic era. Like Maul, she should meet a true end pre-ANH (by Vader?).

I assumed nightsister magic is a variation of the dark side.

I didn’t have issues with the zombies from TCW because that is not true life…..and they all fell apart when that nighsister was wiped out. It also fits with the theme of the dark side being a perversion of the Force.

But nighsister magic bringing a dead body to health……that doesn’t sit well for me, and I think the dark side being used for “healing”, should not be in canon.

I just saw the Ventress episodes too. I was liking it but the 3rd episode was kinda a letdown.
At least we got to see a little bit of Dark Disciple at the start.
I really wanted Ventress to reunite with Quinlan even though he's apparently moved on by this point. It would have been heartbreaking to see Ventress' reaction.
The resurrection scene was kinda stupid; if the nightsisters have such power why don't they resurrect themselves? [face_thinking]
And that Jedi boy is annoying, Ventress was better off without him. They should have both gone on the ship. The whole thing felt like a waste of time.

Just watched the whole thing. It's the weakest Tales series by far. I don't get what was the point of this. Visuals and animation were good, as always, but other than that? Pretty weak. I already expected the story to be weak - and it turned out to be so - but what surprised me is that the Kiners music has been quite uninspiring, which really happened for the first time in recent memory. Not one memorable track out of all the six episodes.

    Spoiler review of the story:
    1)
Literally what was the point of her resurrection? What did they try to say? What did she do? Nothing of note.

The condition and circumstances of her resurrection? Entirely arbitrary. So, Mother Talzin, who had been dead for months, can just arbitrarily resurrect someone else who had been dead for months from beyond the grave. They can do that now? Sure, Dave. Why only Ventress? Why no one else? Why no one else was resurrected after the Grievous massacre, for example? What is that fairy tale nonsense condition of "give up your hearts desire"? How the hell does this work? Never elaborated. I don't think even Filoni knows. It is also doubly stupid, since the show acts like Ventress died randomly or recently, and that her love for Quinlan was possessive, or something, since the stupid condition of her living is that she has to let go of him, when she actually chose it in a deliberate act of sacrifice, and by the end her love for Quinlan was entirely selfless, and she had already let go of him, and urged Quinlan to let go, which is why she herself was at peace when dying. Jesus Christ, people, this is literally Vader/Luke thing. Did anyone making this crap watch Star Wars, let alone read Dark Disciple? He just wanted Ventress back to play with another toy, without a thought put into it. I bet Mother Talzin will be back somehow in Ahsoka S2. No one is ever really gone. Gotta undermine all the stories and steal all the stakes and emotional pay offs for your mediocre Disney+ shows. You go, Dave!

The logic and storytelling are secondary to any of what's happening here, and he did not even have a good story to tell - just another generic "protect Jedi kid". What's worse is how terribly out of character Ventress acts and how pointless it all is. So, after choosing to selflessly sacrifice her life, after receiving what was basically an epiphany from the Force itself, after fully rejecting the Dark Side and embracing the light, she chooses to come back to the realm of the living to do.... nothing. She worked at some space port as a muscle long enough that stormtroopers have already changed uniforms. And she did not even wanna help anyone. She was acting like a complete *******. She was basically forced to help that kid. Also, the kid was unbelievably annoying, and voice acting on the kid was terrible. He sounded 30+, like Kanan in that Bad Batch opening, and the line delivery was awful. And the culmination of the story? Yeah, she doesn't wanna go see Quinlan again. Okay, what was the freaking point then? You don't wanna help the Jedi, you don't think he'd need your help, when the Jedi are being hunted, even the kids, as you've just seen now? Don't you wanna atone for your deeds, if you chose to come back from the dead? Nah? Okay. They ride away with the kid into the sunset. Oh, and also here is another generic story of natives vs misunderstood-CIS-did-nothing-wrong grandpa, who's stealing their water. Never seen that one before.

It's all so painfully generic, bland and boring. There are sure people here who will love it on principle of just either hating on Dark Disciple, or just consuming and defending any of the Disney slop, but I just can't see this as anything but cynical, uninspiring, soulless cash grab of a story. Stormtroopers in this animation were super sexy, though. And thank God they at least didn't kill Highsinger. After what happened to Scorch in Bad Batch, you can never be sure when Filoni decides to waste actually cool character.
    2)
Eh. It was alright. Don't really have anything to say about it. Was it necessary? Absolutely not. We did not need a backstory for Angel Eyes in The Good, the Bad, and the Ugly. Cad Bane did not need one either. Okay, his real name was Colby (lol). He got in prison, his girlfriend married his best friend, and he had a son before he was put away. Alright. Doesn't stop Cad Bane from being utterly ruthless guy, who tortures people to death and kidnaps children. They didn't exactly show how he become that way, by the way. He was just a "Saul Goodman" slipping Jimmy as a kid, then cue Episode 2, he is already ruthless and super evil, and just wants to kill everyone. Again, it was just okay, but entirely unnecessary and, again, pointless. It didn't change my view of Cad Bane as a character, other than making me chuckle that his real name was Colby, lol.

My rating of the Tales stories: Dooku >>> Ahsoka > Barriss > Morgan >> Bane > Ventress

It's kinda wild how the Dooku ones were on completely another level compared to the others. But it's sure getting progressively worse.

I wonder where in the timeline the Assajj Ventress episodes are, i guess closer to Kenobi/Survivor timeline. And Quinlan Vos sure changed in animation. And i hope this is a tease at more Quinlan Vos in animation.

Not all Nightsisters are the same. Not all just use the Darkside.

I think even the Darkside users probably also use the Light.
