We get our answer as to who these guys are. According to Yakface.com and a new figure release :
Target Exclusive Black Series ISB Tactical Agent

I kinda figured they would be Rebels without their helmets, which they still could be, but these Imperials just wear a hat.

The Imperials are great in Andor so believable. Krennick, partagaz, Ghorst, Dedra and syril are just great fascists. They really do belong in the same breath as Tarkin, piett, veers, tagge and thrawn

The way I feel about Partagaz on this show is how most folks on this forum feel about Raddus.

Partagaz has now reached Tarkin-level for me. And Tarkin has been my favorite villain since I was able to consider the question of my favorite villain in the mid-1980s.

As soon as I saw Anton Lesser as Thomas More in Wolf Hall I went "this guy needs to be in Star Wars as a slimy Imperial bureaucrat".

The new captain who is instrumental in the massacre is one of the scariest Imperials ever

To be quite honest, I thought them giving him a dueling scar like an aristocratic Prussian officer from World War II was a bit on the nose.

The original OT and ST depictions of Imperials and an Empire suited the narratives of those times, both culturally and storywise. I still like Tarkin, Veers and Jerjerrod of course. Even the "you rebel scum" dude.

But I think we needed a story to remind us (or give insight into) what an Empire really means, now. It's not just in the imagination anymore, and imperials are not just incompetent followers-of-orders - they are just as terrifying as the "real big bad" (both in stories or in real life).

Andor's depictions blow away those old simplistic notions and replace them, culturally and story wise, with realism and humanity (or inhumanity). Brilliant, competently-told additions to the franchise, its genres, and in-universe world building.

The dynamics of Imperial v Rebel presented here does not explain itself nor need to - they just leave exciting (and upsetting or challenging or motivating) lessons for us all.

So looking forward to the end of this story and rewatching the Imperial machine again. And it's not even finished yet!

I don't know the Imperial officer's name but the actor Alex Waldmann played him very well. Another horrific portrayal of the misuse of power, so relevant for today.

Absolutely loved the scar. Not to mention the jodhpurs. Now the rebellion is firmly, in my mind at least, akin to WWII.

Fun fact: when George Lucas hired Jim Steranko to do some concept paintings for Raiders of the Lost Ark, he used a couple of Steranko's previous illustrations as reference for what Indy should look like, including one with a hero in jodhpurs. However, Lucas was careful to specify that Indy should have "straight pants".

What a great group of Imperial characters Andor provided. Dedra was incredible in my view, both in writing and performance, and Partagaz holds a particularly special place for me. Nemik´s manifesto seemed the final evidence that his efforts have been rendered obsolete by the state of the galaxy, and the acting of Anton Lesser is just spectacular at conveying his despair, knowing that now he has to answer for his failure.

Interesting surprise, that from Partagaz himself, Dedra, Jung, Heert, Blevin? (and Yularen and Krennic, soon enough), Lagret would end up being the last high ranking ISB officer remaining in office from the ones we followed (considering Mon Mothma´s escape, it came as a surprise). Memorable performances all around in my opinion.

Yep, well said. These guys comfortably fit in and around the OT. Hats off.

I find myself thinking Heert’s role in this show is incredibly underrated just because everyone is so struck by the more prominent Imperial characters who are also written amazingly

I'm surprised Lagret did not get in major trouble for Mon Mothma. I wonder what happened to him after the events of ANH. Also, I did notice that while Heert was promoted, Blevin was nowhere to be seen. Perhaps he had one too many failures?

I just knew Paragaz' days were numbered when Krennic said "I can't protect you anymore Lio".
