Amph Avengers: Doomsday (and Secret Wars)

Thunderbolts spoilers as part of speculation:

Since the post-credits scene has Bob present and the 'Bolts/New Avengers specifically mention the Void as the reason he doesn't just go Sentry when it'd be convenient, and since Void's powers act as a handy-dandy exposition device about the characters' background... I'm suspecting Bob might be a "Sacrificial Lion" designed to "sell" Doom to the audience in about three ways:

- By having Sentry lose his physical fight to Doom, since Sentry's conventional power level is impressive and it would show how tough Doom can be in a straight up fight against a "nuclear option" hero.

- By having Void (once Sentry is defeated and the Void takes over) show the audience one of Doom's most traumatizing experiences in his "shadow realm."

- By having Doom force his way out of the "shadow realm" and probably kill poor Bob along the way - likely by using magic - to again assert Doom as the top of the food chain.

… Here me out on this, understanding I’m not even a fan of Kang in the comics, but…

…I think transitioning from the Kangs being introduced dominating the timelines and multiverses to a Doom possibly trying to claw his way to doing so might work better for making the antagonist formidable - by sidestepping “the villain shouldn’t lose given their position of power” and instead going to “the villain can, like Thanos, get a devastating win against the heroes.”

Nothing special, but nice that they're acknowledging it. AOU tends to get glanced over more than it should.
