Yeah I don't know, this trailer didn't hit for me like past GTA trailers have. The whole thing feels a little been there done that.

It's very reminiscent of GTA V, yes. Different setting, prettier graphics, and the novel addition of a female protagonist (), but I definitely don't expect a shake up in the formula. They're going to focus on online anyway.

That, I think, is my ultimate issue with it and - jokes aside - is why I won't waste my time getting the game.

Screw single-player. Take Two has idiots and addicts who'll pay real money for virtual luxuries!

"What's taking Rockstar so long to make GTA VI? Don't they like money?" complains man who spends $1000 every month on GTA Online

At least Rockstar has managed to do a pitch-perfect rendition of Florida:

(In all fairness, AC:Black Flag, a game I thoroughly enjoy, had south Florida appear as a cliff-shrouded tropical jungle)

I'm not at all familiar with the geography of the US Southeast, but I've seen people saying that's supposed to be analogous to southern Georgia. It's consistent with other GTA games that pack a large area into a much smaller game map. V had not just Los Angeles County but also San Bernardino and Riverside; San Andreas practically covered the entirety of California.

The red clay is indeed reminiscent of Georgia.

Also, it's not a real place so who cares.

Can’t believe a made up region in a made up story may have made up geography, immersion ruined.

Edit: But seriously my understanding with GTA’s preference for I Can’t Believe It’s Not (Location) is precisely that it lets them take some creative liberties where they want to. … And considering how UK libel laws work there’s probably some weird benefit there.

I know it's too late, but back when GTA VI was first announced, I was actually hoping that they'd take the game internationally, like Tokyo. It just seems like Rockstar is married to the same cities in each new version of its franchise game, Miami, San Francisco, and New York.

The whole point of GTA is to parody American culture though.

    They write what they know

They can't exactly do wry takes on politics in a story based in Japan with Japanese radio in the background.

Vice City is Miami as far as I understand.

San Fran or New York would be interesting takes but there was a huge fan clamour to return to Vice City and they may have listened. In all honesty, I don't think the location the game is based on in the US really matters.

It's apparently supposed to be a fictional state replacing Florida, called Leonida (probably a reference to Ponce De Leon).
Nah, I suspected they weren't going to have some sort of hilly or mountainous terrain. That's fairly traditional for video games that visit Florida or a Florida analogue. Still surprised that they managed to resist that for Vice City, actually.
The only time it's 'immersion ruined' for me, really, is when the city is lifeless and flat. Whatever Rockstar's flaws are, they certainly deliver on making interesting cityscapes. (Notable failures in my mind are Watch Dogs and Saint's Row III)
San Andreas included a Las Vegas equivalent, as well!

I wonder where this "huge fan clamour" originated to suggest the return to the Miami clone.

Maybe VII could return to "Liberty City"; with an expansion towards the state, and we could get a fictional Long Island. Then I'll be happy.

I know it predates the modern GTA era, but we did have one of the earlier (topdown) GTA games that was set in London in the 60s - that would be pretty cool to do now!

Yeah, but they drive on the wrong side of the road, and Americans wouldn't be too pleased about that.

Death Stranding 2 previews have been hitting the web today.

Many review sites have had the chance to play for around 30hours or so

initial feedback is it's good, very good.

I really enjoyed the first game and this was down as a day one purchase this time. Annoyingly, I'll be away from the PS5 for a week when it's released as I'm on holiday.

No liquor needed in FL. The amount of people i see driving the wrong way down a one way parking lot is a solid 50% here in SoFlo. Then they get super angry when you are driving the correct way at them. I have watched people park in the street and get out of their cars for driving down the wrong way and yell at the people driving correctly for getting in their path. Americans cannot drive correctly, on the whole.

have not played the game yet, but the soundtrack for expedition 33 is extraordinary.

think they should be a lock for the game awards in december.
