Luthen is proof that some Rebels can do extreme things to bring back democracy not all Rebels would qualify to be a Jedi Luthen is one of my favorite New Canon characters

 

Mine too. Especially for how he mirrors Palpatine. Plotting to become the Emperor and getting rid of the Jedi.

For this I wouldn't be surprised if he was a former Jedi

Saw Gerrera is the guy they need to take out because he gets “too extreme” and Cassian goes down in a blaze of glory fulfilling ultimate purpose. Tony Gilroy is gonna do something different. My prediction for Luthen is that he’s gonna have a lame and disappointing death that doesn’t amount to anything, like a rapid degenerative disease or a cance or heart attack. Or his ship just malfunctions and he crashes. He’s so set on this vision of himself getting hanged by the empire as a martyr but that’s just not gonna happen.

 

Saw someone point out that when Luthen meets Mon practicing her speech he was dressed like when he went to meet Lonni, he proceeds to tell Mon Bails team is corrupted and that she can’t absolutely tell anybody… then we hear thirst the ISB agent was planted by “supervisor Jung”
That’s Lonni
Lonni planted the ISB agent in Bail’s team and then alerted Luthen so that they could organize another plan
Lonni is risking it all here that’s why Mon cannot tell anybody… to protect Lonni!

I hope Lonni survives. Everyone is predicting he’s a goner. It would be a surprise to be sure but a welcome one.

 

Oh no! I 'd just posted something that was unrelated then changed my mind. Being about as tech savvy as a sea cucumber I just replaced the post with "Never mind". Sorry for being confusing!

 

Random thought, Luthen ends up dying to make Lonnie an ISB hero, further securing a much-needed resource for the Rebellion.

 

That would be good.

 

He is cornered by ISB and Lonni is front and center so he tells Lonni to shoot him to save himself and his cover… he says if Lonni does not do it someone else will so “we might as well get something for the rebellion out of it right Lonni? What do I sacrifice? EVERYTHING!”

 

And shooting him stops the ISB being able to get any info out of him as well, both strengthening Lonni’s position while setting the ISB back and saving the rebellion at the same time.

 

Some kind of blaze of glory ending. S1 gave us the crazy ship sequence with the laser weapon. I expect something on that level for tonight.

The Left needs more like him today.

Their methods might be different but we all can see the sacrifice Luthen gave to Rebellion was equal to that of Vel, Cinta, Kleya and Cassian. Luthen was the glue that kept the Axis network together, he deserved so much more but this is an anti-war story and heroes rarely get what they deserve.

What side was Luthen on in that first flashback?

 

I didn't recognize his uniform. Was it similar to the ones Han and his unit wore on Mimban? It's been while since I've seen Solo, so I don't remember clearly.

 

Yeah I think Ryan on Screencrush said he was wearing a mud soldier uniform but I wasn't convinced he was right.

 

The outfits reminded me of Mimban.
