ST John Boyega (Finn) in Episode VII

Its not really his and its not really for him.

 

None of them came with a Lightsaber, except for Kylo.

 

So if he is a Force Sensitive (as evidence points to) will he 1.) build his own saber, 2.)Find a relic saber to use or 3.) not use a saber at all?

Well, he isn't technically wrong: the lightsaber is meant to be brought back to Luke. Its not really for either Rey or Finn. Nor do expect for either to fight with it outside of this film...

 

Is it just me, or does he sound like Bender from Futurama? I'm back baby....

 

We dunno that for sure. Could go any way storytelling wise. He could very well have it handed right back to him. Maybe he could even be the rightful heir to the lightsaber? Which would mean that it really would be his and it really would be meant for him much like how it was passed on to Luke in VI.

 

I was always a really big fan of Luke's ROTJ lightsaber. To me, the blue will always be Anakin's, but the green saber was truly Luke's. He built it, became a Jedi Knight with it. I really hope he keeps using it. Plus, I always felt that him designing it to look just like Obi-Wan's sort of showed him following Kenobi's path over his father's. (I could be crazy on that one.) I'm beyond happy with the new characters building their own sabers down the road, rather than be destined to use Anakin's.

 

Based on the Finn toy, are such expression really the kind of speech of a force sensitive? It sounds more of a Han Solo-esque character in all honesty.

If that is so, that Finn is not a force-sensitive, another wasted opportunity by Disney and JJ to show new Jedi students of Luke.

 

He doesn't sound like a Jedi, but he wasn't supposed to be one. Unless they've changed things, force sensitive people are not limited in terms of personality. A force sensitive with an unusual background would just make for a more original story.

 

He's discovering his force sensitivity in TFA. After he defects from the First Order. He was in military service, so it's natural that he speaks like that.

One doesn't count out the other.

I imagine Finn's manner of speech will probably relax into something more typically Jedi-like as the trilogy progresses, same way Luke went from whiney farm boy to calm and collected Jedi knight.

I'm disappointed he's going with that accent though, I thought Boyega's natural speaking voice would fit what we know of Finn's character a lot better in my head. I'm ready to be proven wrong, of course.

 

Since when does personality dictate force sensitivity?

 

Kind of glad that not everyone will be Force-sensitive.

 

I still do not think that there is such thing as 'non force sensitive' but I think it's good not everyone uses the force 'cause it's like if in real life everyone was a olympic athlete and there were no other talents or something you know?

finn will use the force though it's pretty obvious tbh.

 

Somebody looked at the costumes page at BuyCostumes.com and found some **** in the character descriptions.

Finn served as a stormtrooper with the First Order for a period of time in Star Wars Episode VII: The Force Awakens, during which he wore the standard white armor of a stormtrooper. Finn is sensitive to the force and is able to use a lightsaber. You can look like Finn with a white stormtrooper costume or with his more recognizable, casual outfit of a brown jacket, black shirt, and black pants.

 

Nice find! Hopefully that will put an end to this debate. Next debate will be Finn's name I guess.
