Comics Obi-Wan & Anakin #1 (of 5)

Zeppelins in Star Wars? Did those ever appear in Legends or are they a wholly new invention? I gotta say, though, I think I like it. The wait for this trade is going to be awful.

 

Agent of the Empire 2 had, amusingly and oddly, lots of airships:

Like a lack of guardrails, they were a Dooku/Serenno thing.

 

Like the preview, hope the variant cover is the only place Anakin's height is so inconsistent tho.

There were hot air balloons in Phantom Menace. That's sort of close to a Zeppelin.

 

I'm pretty sure a lack of guardrails in Star Wars is not just a Dooku/Serenno thing, Coffee.

But this looks really good colored as well. I'm relieved.

 

#TeamQuiGonsLightsaber is sad.

 

Republic Commando also had wookiee zeppelins.

 

....well then it sure does look like this comic takes place on Serenno.

Which, I mean, there's a logic to it.

Besides some issues with the prequel trilogy, I really enjoy the prequel era. In fact I think I prefer it over the dark times and OT eras (HERESEY), so it's great we're getting more of this time period.

 

If anyone read the most recent issue of Darth Vader, Luke was having a - musty, hard to see - vision of Obi-Wan & Anakin on a crumbled Jedi Temple planet. (or maybe see through time, Force premonition) I'm basically convinced myself that we're gonna see the other side of that in this mini. Which would be neat!

 

If this series is successful, I'm sure we will see more of QuiGons lightsaber. Obiwan and Anakin: Year One. And even a beardless Obiwan could appear.

But besides being pre-Anakin and Obiwan, there are other ways to see that blade again.

In TCW Obiwan does fine with duel wielding lightsabers, perhaps pre-AoTC he has had combat experience using two blades. Hypothetically this could have come about with him still carrying around his Masters blade, even though he would also be using his post TPM lightsaber. An Obiwan wielding both Jedi colors would be bad ass.

 

Yeah, I think you could make and win that bet - if a comic bookie was dumb enough to take it!

 

Maybe Obi Wan or Anakin used Qui Gon's lightsaber for a few years after TPM only for it to get lost in battle similar to how Luke lost his father's lightsaber?

Anakin: Master, I lost my lightsaber
Obi Wan: That weapon was your life padawan and not only that it was Master Qui Gon's life!

 

Maybe young Ani would be all, "I know I'll never have a kid, because that's so not Jedi, but if I did happen to have one with, oh, say, that Angel Girl, then when he's old enough, I'd like him to have my First Lightsaber. What do you think, Old Man?"
Obi-Wan rolls his eyes, and keeps walking.

 

Fixed. Anakin's first Saber was destroyed in the Geonosis droid factory.

 

You could just say "my lightsaber." But even that's unnecessary and would feel forced.

I want to see some humor in this series such as Obiwan jokingly saying "O anakin, I just know your going to be the death of me someday". Also since Anakin should still canon wise be thinking about his "angel" everday (referenced in AoTC), it makes perfect sense for TPM padme to appear to anakin in a dream/hallucination. And please no whining Anakin in this series. Immature at moments I'm ok with, but no AoTC lvls please.
