True enough. In any event, I don't see the inconsistency. I'm siding with Coruscant and the Core as I always have been: the legitimate galactic government.

If you're feeling uncomfortable and disconcerted, don't worry. It's odd for me too. But perhaps the next few Aftermath books will make you feel better as I champion Admiral Sloane's attempts to preserve the Empire.

Oh, I know. But there have been dastardly COMPNOR types around who are dreadfully serious, and I remind them that it's the people with floppy hats and not jackboots who rule the Empire.

To be a contrarian - the Galaxy's a big place. The dot in the Visual Dictionary could cover (almost certainly does cover) several systems.

Yeah, it could or not could be Ilum easily which is why it ain't nailed down specifically yet. All will be revealed! Maybe!

I'm in the I think Ilum is a really cool idea as Starkiller Base because it kind of makes sci-fi fantasty nonsense sense what with the Kyber crystals and all, and the same crystals powering the Death Star superlazer, so with a bigger planet full of 'em, bigger boom. Also it makes the First Oder more dastardly because they twisted and deformed a sacred Jedi place from the Jedi Order. But it becomes a sun in the end so, yay, happy, rebirth, etc.

And if the whole anti-argument boils down to "It can't be Ilum because trees." I just... can't care.

Fun bit in the movie when Han is boarded Guavian Death Gang, first line from the Death Gang guy is "Han Solo, you're a dead man." Also Han's line "You know you can't trust those little freaks!" re. Kanjiklub may be one of my favourite Han lines in the movie.

Anyway, Star Wars dot com just posted a list of random vocal folk in Force Awakens, couple of names in there we know from Clone Wars too

    http://www.starwars.com/news/from-b...tor-the-voices-of-star-wars-the-force-awakens

All hail David Acord for "TRAITOR!"

Matthew Wood (aka General Grevious) did some of the first trooper lines "KEEP MOVING" & "STAY HERE" which I really enjoyed because they sound super-distorted and dehumanizes the troopers even more, which is a good thematic thing to do since one of the main characters is a Trooper who is discovering his humanity.

I always noticed that "We think they may be splitting up" line but never realized it was Witwer.

That article also reveals the location of the 1138--not that I was anxious or anything.

Awesome, I love that they released this. The TCW team got more dialog than I'd expected, especially Witwer.

They missed a huge opportunity, though: Matt Lanter should have voiced one of the stormtroopers reporting to Kylo Ren. Commodore Meta would have approved.

Latner should have done a voice for Anakin in Rey's vision.

The meme's people have made for this movie are hilarious.
Maybe TFA wasn't the most innovative entry in SW history but the meme's people have been making since the movie came out make up for it imo.

But... yes. Now that I think of it, if Starkiller Base was indeed Ilum, that means it's going to be luch harder to build new lightsabers in the future. Granted, Ultimate Star Wars notes that kyber crystals were found on scattered planets across the galaxy, but I kinda expect a tweet from Pablo to invalidate that soon enough. :p At any rate, now they'll have to search for those, instead of just going to Ilum.

Honestly the memes helped me appreciate a movie. I'm having a lot of fun with TFA characters I initially had absolutely no interest in. :p
Eagerly looking forward to Episode VIII memes.

But Rebels shows Ezra getting his crystal on a planet other than Ilum.

Yes, and Lothal has them. But I mean, Jedi of the Republic seemed to go to Ilum by default (it was part of the initiates' trials), whih means they didn't have to bother searching kyber crystals. I doubt Luke has knowledge of other planets where such crystals can be found, especially if the Empire used those during the Palpatine Era.

Luke found holocrons a the Devaron temple, so he probably got some information about crystals there. Not to mention the other temples he found over the years--and who knows which of those had kyber crystals lying around, too.

I don't recall anything in the Ilum TCW arc implying they don't send younglings to a variety of temples--and even if Ilum was the default planet for those sorts of rituals, that doesn't mean there couldn't be several others. It could just be that Ilum was convenient to Coruscant.

I was just trying to make fun of Kylo.

Otoh, the whole "maps of the Jedi temples" plot to TFA would suggest the Empire would have known there was a Jedi temple on Lothal, unless that map was compiled after Rebels or incomplete.

Granted, I think I've forgotten 90% of what I knew about SW so maybe the empire did know in that Yoda episode.
