I like the idea of a "bounty hunt" mode. Doesn't really specify if it's offline or not. I'm not sure how that would even work as a multiplayer feature. Have each player be their own bounty hunter, and it'll play like an every man for himself? I've been fond of modes like that; never any good at them. I prefer playing as a team.

Could work both ways. It sounds like a tweaked version of Hero Hunt, judging by the description. Hero Hunt just with two heroes instead of one, and perhaps less players overall (I can't remember how many players there are in the standard Hero Hunt map).

I think I played Hero Hunt once. Unless you knock off the sole hero/villain, you really can't earn any credits/points in a typical match. And I'm hardly any good with the heroes/villains to begin with. I think the one time I played that mode, I was fortunate enough to be the initial designated hero from the start. As soon as I was killed off, that was that.

I've also played it a couple of times. I didn't like it either. Then again, I'm not really a big fan of the modes that focuses on the Heroes and Villains, but it's a matter of preference. I like them more as occasional flavor to the big modes, where a good player can really turn the tide.

The offline modes involving the heroes are supposed to be a good training exercise, but as I've mentioned before, I didn't really get the game to spend a good amount of time offline in single player. That's not what I'm paying for my PS Plus account.

I agree. There's very little incentive to play the offline mode in Battelfront, save for getting a few trophies and for the fun of playing with a friend through splitscreen multiplayer. But that's really it.

So, did people make good use of the double xp weekend? I was sadly to busy myself to utilize it fully. I had to be social in real life instead. :p

You could say that again. The single player is a joke. Everything they advertise about the game you CAN'T do. Yeah you can do things that are similar but it isn't the same.

It should be the same offline as online. Or they could just say up front, this is a multi player game and if you want to play this offline you can't do anything we are actually advertising.

    No excuses.

And what you do get is so flawed it isn't much fun to play. It is like they cooked it together in a day and no one even tested it because a games company should be able to pick up how flawed it is.
Map choice and mode choice as well as options are all missing.

Why don't I just go online well it just isn't worth it for the time I will be playing it for. It is a joke that you do to play the modes they advertise for your game.

For the Imperial side maybe a Royal Guard, they would be fun to play as.

Have you gotten to play splitscreen with anyone yet? I've tried using Shareplay with PSN a few times, but it seems every time the connection is "low". I don't know if it's a product of my connection or the other user's.

I did make good use of the double XP weekend. Had a stay-in on Saturday because of near 0 degree temperatures in NY, so I was online for awhile. Leveled up twice in one day. My character is now level 42.

What's so fun to play as these guys?

Never actually seen them in combat, have we?

Nope barely played. With the game now in full swing for a quarter of a year, so many people are already lvl 50, that double xp holds little value to them (me).

I guess if you need credits it's good as well. But I'm sitting on nearly 200,000 credits. There's nothing to do with them. I have everything I want. Even the fact that some star cards require credits to refill means nothing. Most often the cost of a refill can be recouped in a few games, and you still have many uses of the card left.

edit: I guess i should also add that the single player modes are mostly a joke. It's not that they aren't challenging. I have certainly not beaten them all on the hardest setting. It's that they do nothing for me. They lack fun.

What they need is a single player mode that is essentially supremacy or Walker assault with you vs. AI.

You know, like the original two Battlefront games. Which were actually fun.

I assume it's normal for people to replenish their star cards only when they're down to the nitty gritty (or zero). My question is, can you just load up on extra star cards if you have enough credits to do so? If you have everything you need (all weapons, star cards, etc.), could you load up like 100+ shields in advance so you don't have to worry about running out on the field?

Exactly, perfect opportunity. They could also have a story mode, no wait forget it.
To see one fighting would be good.
If this were a perfect world I would say Kir Kanos and that sort of stuff.

They could then rerelease the TVC figure and do a six inch version.

The game looks great and they could turn out so much stuff for it, if they wanted too. It is such a waste.

Fun is what I want out of a game, like the first time I flew Superman in Lego batman 2 and then realised you could play as the whole Justice League or putting in Lego SW 3 and realising that a whole galaxy was waiting for you.
My favourite is leaving the Jedi Temple on Tython for the first time to explore the world.

SW battlefront attempts to do this, the Vader mission when you first load it and the soldier on Hoth. You then look at the missions and realise wait I can't actually do anything they said I could.

The only purpose I could see for those guys is to assist the Emperor during a boss scene on the Death Star. They'll be less powerful than him, obviously, but you'd still have to kill them off before having to deal with Sideous alone and his force lightning.

Well they could fight on the battlefield too. They have melee weapons so it is something different.
If you had to face a whole group of them for instance.

They could have some sort of guarding/raiding duty. For instance outside a shuttle with some Imperial Officers. The Rebels would have to stop the shuttle from leaving or kill the imperial officers.

Yes, you can purchase as much as you'd like it seems. I accidentally filled a card twice once and had over 60 uses banked.

Once I reach Level 50, I just might do that. I use the shield alot during the ground games.

I use shield as well, and that's about the only thing I spend credits on nowadays.

By the time I hit 50, I already had everything I wanted. So for the most part my credits just accumulate. Sitting on like 200,000 right now.

Have you bothered toiling with the different traits available, or stick with one all this time?

I like Survivalist. Quicker health regeneration is helpful on the maps, especially the smaller ones.

    I've thought about that one.

For me having a slight resistance explosives comes in very handy with so many people using the explosive shot now. Also helps to keep you from getting killed by strafing from ships ( I mostly play big maps). If you make it to level 3, it gives you a 30% reduction in blaster damage too.

Oh, so you have to refill at least some of the star card "abilities"? Okay, I am definitely not interested in that system.

Please forgive a stupid question, because I haven't played with the shield card that much. Is there anything that can be fired while your sheild is on? Do you use it mostly for crossing open areas, claiming pods/uplinks etc? I tried it once or twice and it didn't seem to it suit me, but so many people seem to like it that I wonder what I'm missing.

Why not? Don't you think it would be a little unfair if you get unlimited uses of the shield on the map?

I think the only thing you could do through a generator is throw grenades. It does get pretty annoying when you have the field generator and are approached by enemies directly. I'm no good with melee combat, so unless I'm running on an open field, I'm careful when using the shield.

A cooldown based system is preferable.
