Yes and it is also very much the case that all of these squillion dollar hi tech innovations in aircraft control automation (such as autopilot and MCAS) rely upon the data which is being fed to the computer which comes from the static-pressure system which is still basically a small tube screwed on to the aircraft and is essentially the same system I have on the 1974 piper Cherokee that I’m learning to fly on. So if the pitot tube, angle of attack sensor or the static-pressure system itself is faulty then the computer gets bad data and the automation becomes unsafe because the computer thinks the aircraft is doing something it isn’t regardless of the manual control inputs by the pilot. It comes down to how much time a pilot has to completely disengage the system and the training they have received on this procedure.

Tillis changes vote, agrees to support emergency declaration on border wall

I take back everything I said a couple of weeks ago about his being principled even if I disagree with him on everything.

He’s principled at blowing sunshine up Trump’s ass because some of his Trump-ass-sunshine-blowing constituents yelled at him over “disloyalty,” and he’s principled at not wanting to lose their votes next year.

So apparently Lindsey Graham has pulled his head out of Trump’s *** long enough to torpedo the House resolution on Mueller. Guess he had to come up for air sometime.

Hopefully the Democrats get a good candidate and get him out of there.

Okay. I'm back from the Within Temptation concert in Portland, and I'm still revved up. So, I might as well repeat what I said this morning elsewhere.

Bernie Sanders has a vision for this country. Beto O’Rourke has a vision for himself. He’s #BetaODork. Let’s hope he and that idiot, Biden, divide the establishment vote.

Trevor Fuller is a good guy

I was happy to vote for him for county commissioner. Might be a bit of a jump to go from there to the US Senate but with the right campaign he could make it happen.

Any one seen the Breitbart interview where Trump threatens violence? I doubt there will be a peaceful transfer of power and maybe he'll have to be dragged out of the White House be Seal Team Six or some one else.

Maybe he'll call on his 2nd admenment friends to come to Washington to"Save" America and then will see the kick off of the Second American Civil War.

And on top of that I'm reading that the New Zealand mosque shooter said that Trump was in inspiration to him because he's a symbol of white power, or something to that effect.

I wouldn't be surprised re: Second Civil War, but why are conservatives convinced they'll win it?

I'd suspect ideological posturing. That aside, it's the 21st century - the assets available to either side and the logistics matter the most, and it largely depends on which parts of the army flip where. And that's not getting into the problem of a losing side in a very bloody civil war having access to nuclear warheads.

They are convinced they'll win because their team is sponsored by gun manufacturers and the NRA.

    My question was tongue-in-cheek.

I think, should actual fighting ever break out, the Right will be unpleasantly surprised by a) how many liberals actually own guns and b) how quickly those who do not would be willing to acquire and subsequently learn how to use them.

That was basically what I was insinuating.

    The Art of the Deal

    https://www.yahoo.com/

PYONGYANG, North Korea (AP) — North Korean leader Kim Jong Un will soon decide whether to continue diplomatic talks and maintain his moratorium on missile launches and nuclear tests, a senior North Korean official said Friday, adding that the U.S. threw away a golden opportunity at the recent summit between their leaders.

Vice Foreign Minister Choe Son Hui, addressing a meeting of diplomats and foreign media, including The Associated Press, in Pyongyang said the North was deeply disappointed by the failure of the two sides to reach any agreements at the Hanoi summit between Kim and President Donald Trump.

She said Pyongyang now has no intention of compromising or continuing talks unless the United States takes measures that are commensurate to the changes it has taken — such as the 15-month moratorium on launches and tests — and changes its "political calculation."

Neither's side gun owners are all that relevant in the age of drone strikes, highly mechanized armies. And obviously, the armed forces, and all their equipment and the logistics behind them, would take part - and a principal part at that, notably because they can easily strangle entire civilian supply chains that are already having trouble dealing with only a little friction.

Yeah, the answer in the terrorist's manifesto to the question as to whether he admired Trump was: "As a symbol of renewed white identity and common purpose? Sure. As a policy maker and leader? Dear god no."

So, the shooter gives Trump props for his racist agenda, but even he had to find fault in Trump for his incredible ineptitude.

Homicidal maniacs have such high standards these days!

That’s disturbing, because it makes me wonder what will happen when someone with Trump’s views and Barack Obama’s savvy and political skills makes it into the White House. Not a pleasant thought.

I’ve read a few analyses of the manifesto, and glanced over it myself, and a few things stand out as worth acknowledging:

    1) It’s explicitly, proudly fascist. 2) It is a perfect example of fascism’s commitment to irrationalism and violence as an end unto itself. 3) It’s very much a product of right-wing internet culture (RWIC), which insulates its loathsomeness from critique by wrapping itself in layers of irony and comedy. 4) Without those protective layers of irony, many pillars of RWIC – Infowars, Proud Boys, Ben Shapiro, etc. – would be recognized as a project that normalizes political violence to set up the conditions for fascism. 5) The reason that RWIC loves Trump is because he is part of that irony/comedy project that buttresses normalization.

This is part of why Trump won’t say that white nationalism is a problem, because he sees its incitement towards violence as legitimate free speech and criticism of liberalism, even while saying that Islamic Fundamentalism which advocates violence is terrorism. It’s a double standard that he needs to maintain.

Yeah, that may be my biggest worry about Trumpism: a Trump 2.0, a more savvy politician with a greater number of Trumpist Congressmen behind him and greater normalization of these views among American voters.

As much as the left is fearful of the military and that they would side with Trump or Right-wingers I think if it comes to a Second Civil War the Military will side with the legitimate goverment (the one people vote for). Will there be some who leave their posts or try and steal gear to take to the other side? Of course. Will it be in large number? No. If Trump wont leave Office and calls on people to come to Washington then i have no doubt the Military will back who ever is voted in.
