Dude in the article: "You'll see other ships flying around that aren't playable, maybe after launch they could be idk" Star Wars fans with PTSD from BF2: "OMG MICROTRANSACTIONS?!"
DLC and microtransactions aren't the same thing. I'm fine with the game having a season pass if it offers more ships & mission types etc
On a different note - I get why they've locked the view to first person only, that the design is built around that, but that might rule it out for me. For racing and speed games, I'm fine with first person view, probably because whatever you're controlling is on a fixed plane. Once you go into the air, with three axes, first person ceases to work. I can't judge my position relative to everything else - No Man's Sky particularly demonstrated this to me. I got nowhere with first-person view, once they introduced third person view, it was much better.
looks great. i don't know if it was a thing in the old games, but having the ability to change where your ship's shielding is strongest at any given time is a nice touch.
It's shaping up nicely. I'll drop the $50 AUD just for the single player if I can get around 10 hours of gameplay out of it.
So how many protagonist characters can you play I single player campaign and does this game require a VR set?
They've said there will be a rebel campaign and an empire campaign. I'm kind of getting the impression it will be an "alternative perspective" format, you play a mission as one side and then you can see what the other side was doing in the same battle. But I'm just speculating there.
Did not know it was going to be this cheap, I was assuming the standard price. Even more excited for this now. TFU 1 and 2 were fantastic, I won't take anything else. TFU 2 was very short though, could have done with being cheaper. __ This game might be enough for me to get VR to be honest, I've stayed away from it up until now.
The Force Unleashed games were great for just smashing your way through enemies. They failed in the bosses department (except the Gorog), and the second was indeed a massively short game (not helped by half of it being on one planet). Still good single player experiences, though.
Fallen Order was great. Battlefront II is pretty good, though it took a while after launch for that to happen. No reason this can't be good.
Nope. The game is looking very good. But, personally? I find first-person view only very difficult in the full 3d plane of space. On a planet? It's a bit better but I still find third person view far easier. Now, add in changing power settings, while knowing where you're going in this full 3d environment while accurately lining up a shot.... Even the writer said it took some coordination and I've no reason to suspect impairment of any kind for them. If it's that tricky for the writer, it's likely to be far more so for me. This could be a good one to watch streams of.
already bought my pre-order disc from amazon, hopefully there's no shipping delays making it show up in December.
I disagree. I found it utterly boring, repetitive, no plot, sparsely populated worlds, next to no NPC variation... no reason to keep playing
Damn, I'm going to be out of town when this comes out. Gonna be a week and a half behind everyone. Not ideal, but I guess that's ok, since A-wings are so fast I can catch up easy enough .
