Balls, was really looking forward to that but it's proving elusive in terms of pre-ordering in the usual places.
Yeah, I would have expected to see an official announcement for the story collection by now. Release is supposed to be December so I guess they still have time, but I'm a little surprised they didn't time it to correspond with the recent panel.
I think they're leaving it up to Titan to deal with that. I'm not sure there was any hoopla on the official site or anything about The Fiction Collection.
What was the image / info seen before then - a leak? Fan stuff? I'm finding it hard to tell official and unofficial stuff apart at times
I have been thinking about why this era is when the Jedi are at their height, compared to the thousands of years they existed prior to the Sith. While the Jedi did spread out prior to the Sith, It was less compared to the HR era because hyper drives were probably not as efficient (with less hyperspace lanes) as they were during the Galactic Republic. I bet that influenced the Old Republic to never reach the size the Galactic Republic did prior to the Sith/Mando wars. Then when the many galactic wars happened, that further limited the Old Republic getting bigger. I also think the HR era has the most Jedi in numbers. Though I don’t think it’s going to decrease to Prequel era numbers because of mass slaughter. After all the HR era still has around 150 years until it’s end in 82BBY. Some events will take place that lead over time to the Jedi decrease their influence outside of Coruscant, outposts abandoned, even some temples. Probably over the years less recruiting into the Order.
I mean i think the point of this era and the era after this story is less one big thing and more like a hundred tiny cuts that seem insignificant at the time but on a macrolevel you see the grand decline.
I get the impression that the High Republic authors, Leslye Headland, Story Group, and the author of Vow of Silver Dawn may each have their own interpretation of when the end of the High Republic era is. Which I suppose is also true of historians with periods of real-world history.
I mean I think Lesley Headland is probably gonna be the one that they go with considering that's on streaming.
I thought the 82BBY end date had been confirmed to be the end, not just by the author of Vow of Silver Dawn. While I didn’t read Dooku Jedi Lost, I heard it was implied from the perspective of Dooku that the HR era ended earlier. Though both can be right in a way. For those looking backwards, golden age of the Jedi/Republic had declined when 82BBY begins, though for reasons, later historians still see this year as the final year of the HR. Perhaps some unique things from the HR era were still active in 82BBY before ending that same year. Similar to how the Clone Wars is still Republic era while also being the last years of that era and evolving themes that will flourish in the Empire era. I’m sure when the Acolyte comes out, we will learn more. Maybe we will see the end of the HR era and the dawn of the Prequel Era.
I mean according to Lesley Headland Acolyte is essentially a prequel to Phantom Menace in sorta a thematic sense
I think in-universe historians would probably place the end of the High Republic in relation to something like the fall of the Republic rather than the Battle of Naboo, maybe 100 to 150 years before the Empire. That would be 169-119 BBY to us.
It was never posted anywhere official, just places like Reddit. It would be weird if someone with professional-level graphic design skins who wanted to make a hoax book announcement chose to do it with a High Republic short story collection and not something more salacious, so I think it’s both real and unannounced. Remember how there was a rumor that EK Johnston was writing a book about Padme for something like an entire year before it was officially confirmed? Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
So, a new book title (young readers' presumably) just leaked with a very spoilery name Spoiler Battle for Starlight by George Mann. I feel like having a thread for it at this stage would do little but spoil things for people. Spoiler Even though a lot of people guessed it would happen.
Jedi council concept art and more excerpts from THR Show. https://www.starwars.com/news/high-...nd-more-from-star-wars-the-high-republic-show Spoiler A new episode of Star Wars: The High Republic Show is here and with it comes new reveals and announcements. A special animated segment introduced the Jedi Council of the era, giving us our first look at many of the 12 esteemed Jedi leading the Order at the time. During the High Republic, the 12 seats on the Council consist of three Grand Masters, including Yoda, Lahru, and Pra-tre Veter. There’s also Keaton Murag, Ada-Li Carro, Teri Rosason, Oppo Rancisis, Adampo, Rana Kant, Yarael Poof, and Jedi Master Jora Malli, who cast the deciding vote to join the Republic Defense Coalition to hunt down The Nihil. The episode also revealed our first look at the Blade of Bardotta, Porter Engle, the Jedi Master and celebrated cook.
While I haven't much kept up with this I am very interested in the new styles for Master Rancisis and Poof. Interesting that Poof keeps all four of his arms exposed in this era, and Rancisis looks so much younger!
Ry Ki Sakka, Jora Malli's replacement, is given the rank of Grand Master in the High Republic Show video. Is this an error? Glad to finally see Lahru, that species has always creeped me out a bit though. I wonder who the 12th member is. Ephru Shinn was Yoda's temporary replacement apparently, so that still leaves one missing. It's Soleil Agra, the Nautolan.
Yep, he's a blonde-rocking Yarkora. So, thanks to my morbidly obsessive mind and the Council roundup video, I think I know how all the members are arranged in the Council chamber. Given that Yoda, Oppo and Yarael are all the same distance from each other in the video as they are in Episode I, using that as a baseline, and going from the right end to the left: Spoiler: Rising Storm/Out of the Shadows 1) Jora Malli; Ry Ki Sakka 2) Lahru 3) Yoda; Ephru Shinn 4) Pra-Tre Veter 5) Keaton Murag 6) Yaddle; Ada-Li Carro 7) Teri Rosason 8) Oppo Rancisis 9) Adampo 10) Yarael Poof 11) Rana Kant; Stellan Gios 12) Soleil Agra
Really good information on the makeup of the Council, still wanting to know why they have three grandmaster though.
