i mean, the prequels arent really well written, but they are DEFINITELY better written than this show so far. its not a matter of what you like more, thats simply a fact. you can like this show better than the prequels for many reasons, but the prequels are better written overall. trying to deny that is just silly.

My issue with recruiting Mando is that it's too MCU-ish, but ok I can live with that it's not big deal.

I thought this was going to be the episode where we learn that Boba wanted to become a crime lord so he could get Han's dice back!!!

I wasn’t too impressed. Just felt like a lot of unnecessary explaining of things we already know. We already know he’ll get Slave 1 back. We already know the armor’s not in the sarlaac. It felt like barely anything happened in this episode.

I'm sure Boba knew that Fennec would understand what a Firespray Gunship was, and knowing what it was, whether or not it was worth risking her life recovering it from Jabba's Palace.
For all of us growing up in the 80s, Slave I was the name of Boba Fett's ship. Some of us old timers on these forums will remember the theories that Kitster, Anakin's friend from Episode I, would become Boba Fett. With a ship's name like Slave I, it sure seemed plausible! Nowadays, I'm fine with it being called Slave I, but what connection does it have to slavery, perhaps Jango bought it off some Trandoshan Slavers, and never bothered to change the name? If there's a controversy regarding the name, he can just say "my ship" in dialogue, and still have it canonically referred to as Slave I in the inevitable visual guide by Pablo Hildago.
Everything said here I agree with. This is good, fun Star Wars content that we're getting every week. I wondered whether Fennec would have some sort of Life Debt owed to Boba Fett, and perhaps after hanging around him, maybe has decided she does owe her life to him?

    Watching this episode again.

I find it genuinely comical (in a good way) that the hip youngsters with their Mod or ‘modern’ clothing and style are also called Mod in the Star Wars universe for their ‘modifications.’ Something about that flip meaning is playfully funny. I’m liking these kids more and more. Also Fennec is like a big time Mod. It’s more a life or death alteration, but she has a lot in common with these kids.

It adds another layer of motivation to Chapter 3 and makes the story better. The structure of this series is so unusual. I feel like Boba enlisting the help of the Mods in Ch.3 is actually the payoff for Fennec’s alterations show in flashback during Ch.4. Were seeing effect before cause. Ch.3 the Mod gang randomly seemed to appear without motivation. Now we have the reason Boba trusts them, he had a part positive dealing.

Thank the Force, episode 4 was so much better than episode 3. I feel like the show is back on track again.

Is Slave 1 ever called Slave 1 on screen. I’m fairly certain it’s not called by name in either The Empire Strikes Back or Attack of the Clones. But I’m not sure about the Clone Wars. Aura Sing, Boba, Cassus, Bossk, or Hondo might say it.

I must say that after last week's rather poor episode, I think this might have been the best of the series thus far. Nothing too fancy, but still very entertaining. I do think the series would've needed a better structure, but we'll see how the second half plays out.

    9/10.

At some point Bossk will show up, expecting there to be a bad-blood rivalry between him and Boba. To his surprise, Boba is now a sweet old man, who offers him a drink. Things will get tense though when he asks Boba how Slave 1 is doing, and Boba will congenially explain that he doesn't use that name anymore. Bossk will needle him as to why, and it quickly devolves into an extremely nasty argument about political correctness, culminating in someone's death.

I always had it in my head that Adam Driver looks like Pete Townshend and Kylo Ren’s entire arc in the sequel trilogy is just the Star Wars version of Quadrophrenia ending with Kylo out on sea and Love Reign Over Me playing

So now I’m just happy there are literal Star Wars mods

I believe Aurra Sing said it...As far as I'm concerned, it's Slave I until Boba Fett changes the name.

Ok having have had all day to think about it. This is an ok star wars tv show not the best but ok-good one. It has both bad and good episodes. This one is ok. Better then episode 3 at least. Jon Faveru's writing shows it's weakness from time to time. Boba Fett knows the Jawas took his armor, right!? Or does he have amnesia or just stupid. Boba not very smart it seems. the mood robotparts shop was cringe and felt more like cyberpunks. The heist f slave 1 was ok but dragged on. Flashbacks were too long. I liked seeing Krrsantan back and him workin for Bobba, the crime family dinner scene. Rancor cameo. I liked how they tied to Mandalorian with both flashback and present. I liked seein Boba wipe out the nikto biker gang. him kiilin the sarlac. I enjoyed the episode well enough but nothing special like many of the mandalorian episdoes were.

Watching this episode again. It makes perfect sense Boba Fett’s says ‘Firespray Gunship’ to Fennec. He just told her his plan without directly telling the audience. Nikto bikers killed his sandpeople family. Fennec finds this unlikely. Boba wants revenge / justice, but needs more powerful weapons to challenge the bike gang and whoever is backing them. A gunship would do that. Boba doesn’t want a spaceship, he wants a gunship. Gunship is the point of what he’s saying.

Oh, thank the Force there are still people arguing over the PT. I had almost forgotten the sweet throbbing in my temple whenever that happens.

Also... if you have a car that you named "Mary", and you want someone to help you get it back... would you say "please help me get my car back", or would you say "please help me get Mary back"?

Boba was unconscious, then started to wake up only to be beaten unconscious again. It's neither amnesia nor stupidity.

Thanks! It will always be Slave 1 to me as well. Having it called Slave 1 on the Clone Wars probably means it always will be Slave 1 in universe as well - even if no one ever directly calls it that again.

I guess the work around would be 1) Boba renamed it. 2) That’s not the same Firespray Gunship Jango Fett flew and Boba inherited.

Interesting that Jabba’s garage is empty of space ships save for Slave 1. I guess that would be too much for the show to include if Boba and Fennec had to move around parked space ships, speeders, skiffs, and barges so Slave 1 could get out. Even when Hondo was in possession of Slave 1 he had a hanger full of other ships.

Still when it was time completely abandon his operation - Slave 1 is ship Hondo took.

Also I think we saw the vehicle hanger at Jabba’s Palace on the clone wars.
