Hmmm... not as engaging as the first episode and felt too exposition heavy... but still interesting to watch. Strange how it doesn't yet really feel like a Star Wars story (IMO), and could easily be its own thing. 6/10.

Based on Tony Gilroy's comments, I suspect that it will continue to feel this way for many. He's not making any effort to follow SW precedent. I'm fine with that as long as I continue to enjoy the show. And right now I very much am.

I rated this one the same, because it basically felt like more or the same (as episode 1)...I gave it a 7. I didn't go higher cos it was really just a lot MORE of Cassian walking around all clandestine from one place to another-and although the flashbacks are interesting, IMO they STILL show too little at a time. I've seen two episodes of them just to figure out one thing they're doing. I hope things don't continue this way. With Mandalorian, or Kenobi, there were elements early on that gripped the viewer's attention/interest. With Andor, it seems like they are hardcore going for the "long play."

With as many episodes as there are, I'm sure I'll have to get thru some exposition to see some really good stuff. Although I will say that this still feels like generic sci fi, and does not "feel" like Star Wars at all.

Yes I feel the same... Ultimately I just want to be drawn into the drama of it. I suspect though that some of aesthetic will become more familiar as the show progresses.

IMO Star Wars used to have this quality that new films and shows felt like their own thing at first. This was true to George Lucas movies. I think each one of them has rather unique feel despite sharing a lot of common Star Wars feel. Same with the animated shows. Disney movie-trilogy never quite did this right IMO. Only TLJ feels kinda like it's own thing to me. Rogue One had it's own feel and Mandalorian did too. BOBF was not working for me, it at times was just Mandalorian other times it felt something is just lost. OWK sort of had it's own style and feel, but to be honest it was a bit forgettable in the end.

I think Andor is somewhat unique in how realistic it feels and I like this a lot. I've been waiting for this sort of portrayal of Star Wars Galaxy for a long time. But I think there is need for familiar aesthetic too, and sure we will see Empire and even Senate chambers. There is certain challenges to this way of approach for sure. Some Star Wars elements are bit goofy and weird after all. It's good that these are still kept in some form (like goofy droids and aliens) since it needs to be Star Wars still.

Episode 2 rates a 7 from me, a very solid episode indeed.

Tensions rise as more backstory is revealed on Kennari. The wide shot of young Cassa gazing upon the ruins of the mines was impressive and disturbing.

Does Timm not realize that jealousy also leads to the dark side as much as anger?

Loved the subtle intro of Luthen here. Being discreet in taking an air bus into the city yet given the nature, theme and tone of this show, I was questioning how random it may be how that elderly passenger just happened to strike up a conversation with him. And then followed him some after they both disembarked, just to give some more local friendly advice..coincidence hm?

I have to mention watch tower dude who OBVIOUSLY and THOROUGHLY loves his job of marking the passage of time wielding his Mjolnir-like hammers. I can only wish I had that level of devotion in my daily job

The scene mid-episode with Cassian / B2EMO, excellent. Maybe the best scene so far, it connects the kid/adult timelines, it's funny, it's world-building for Ferrix, Bemo is endearing and humanizes Cassian. This droid might be the most complex character of the whole show, he has an triangular relationship he's really split between, sad and beautiful.

Yes that droid has been excellent supporting character by far. Considering he is garbage can on wheels pretty literally.

For a second I thought we were about to get our first SW nude scene. Also I'm loving the Tobey Maguire looking guy who can't make a speech.

I thought the episode was pretty good. I'm creeped out by how Timm was stalking Bix, and it was almost worse that he stared at her all night.

I gotta say I enjoy Sergeant Linus Mosk and the actor, Alex Furns. I mostly like his accent and determination, even though I don't agree with his objective. Anyhow, still rooting for Cassian and I was excited when I first heard Stellan Skarsgard's voice.

On an unrelated note, Todd the Jedi, your avatar is Sam Witwer yelling, right? :D

That would go bit too far IMO, especially so soon with minor characters. I don't want Star Wars to become HBO...

Just watched episode 2. If I was able to, I'd have given it a 7/10. Nothing overly special going on. The cops are hot on Cassian's tail and he's on the run; but that won't stop him from having an affair with the mechanic. I know it's still early for me in this series, but I'm still trying to contemplate the purpose of the flashback scenes and their connection to what's going on now. All I've gathered so far is that he has a grudge and he's looking for his sister.
