She is. Began talking as soon as he drank from fountain. He must become full Sith Lord now to gain my respect. Hopefully he isn’t brought back before the finale ends. I would love for this show to be canceled with him that way forever more lol.

It seems like they used the rejected George Lucas/Michael Arndt story treatment as the basis for this show.

Meanwhile, I'm wondering about that voice that Kit hears.

    Was it really Val Kilmer?

Everything I'm hearing about this show is making me sadder and sadder. Now I'm dreading watching it. Way to go, LFL.

Yeah thats the confusing part. Makes the show more adult then it really is.

The fallacy is that (if I remember correctly), the original film didn't have any swearing involved; and yet you knew that it was aimed for all ages.

The original movie wasn’t that well regarded in its time. It was no Star Wars. Hence no sequel.

Doesn't matter. It's still withstood the test of time. Maybe give credit to home video sales that gave it new life.

Didn't really get a cult following the way a movie like Labyrinth did though, or even The Dark Crystal.
How often do you come across Willow merchandise? How often to you see people cosplay at comic-con?
It was an OK movie from a stream of weird 80s fantasy movies, nothing more.
Not much there for story expansion and now it's spawned a show that has no idea if it's aimed at adults who liked the original or a whole new audience (even though it's too adult for kids who would probably like the movie on Disney+ )

That said, the last episode was much better because it advanced the story properly.
And it had some good comedy interactions between the group.

    For the Sequel Trilogy?
    How so?

    That's not ok.
Reviews from critics were mixed, but the film made $137.6 million, on a $35 million budget. And it did well on home video release. It had a board game, three video games, and three novels, based on it. It wasn't a failure. There was no sequel because the story was told. It was a one off. I've never met anyone who doesn't like it, except on the internet, where no one likes anything.

my guess is that the people making this are going for that whole 80's nostalgia thing, so we get all these teens on an adventure and the music tracks go with that vibe too.

doesn't really fit with Willow tho.

According to the show’s Wikipedia entry, Jean Marsh also recorded some new lines for the episode with Bavmorda’s castle.

Be careful what you wish for.

I can't say the latest episode was better, but maybe it was less bad. The fight scene felt like something from the movie. Music is still awful.

I liked the new scenery at least. The dialogue was still cringe-worthy and I still can't connect with any of the characters. One episode left, and it looks like it's still up in the air if this show gets renewed for a second season. While I don't like the characters, I'd still feel bad for the young actors since I'm sure they at least had a good time filming. I wonder if this show would've had more of an appeal if it was animated. Overall the special effects and typical bland scenery suggest a very stingy budget.

It looks like they were given access to "The Volume" for 107 and they just went crazy for the visuals but that's just a guess as it felt very fishbowl-esque. Pretty much another episode where they go nowhere - literally. Surprisingly, it does somehow advance the plot an inch.

Again, I feel the finale is going to disappoint as it's not going to satisfy the plot it has set up. It feels like they could have made this a two-part 2 hour movie (4 hours total) instead of 8 episodes totaling 8 hours. There's a lot of filler with no character development. Most characters has zero chemistry. It might as well be the Star Wars prequels.

Also, now flute boy has powers? What?

I'm glad you brought that up.
I guess at some point they had to come up with some answer to the "was is he here?" question yet again. Ok, for several episodes it's been made nauseatingly clear that he has a thing for Elora and will probably wind up with her (and Airk is left to fend for himself), but he was still overwhelmingly useless. They didn't need just another character who talks a lot.

Credit where credit is due, they've been telegraphing his hidden magic powers for quite a few episodes. It didn't come out of nowhere.

You'd probably pick up on the hints if you rewatched the series, but I wouldn't ask you to do that.
