I don't recall Rebellion being like Masters of Orion at all. And I still play the latter. I played it yesterday. I can boot up Rebellion and check, I suppose...

Punch-Out!! is really fun and also provided one of my favorite Giant Bomb moments where they had set up a plan to do a bunch of daily attempts to see if Dan could finally beat Mike Tyson and then he did it during the live camera test on day one.

AFAIK, the only cheat codes in the game were to get you to Tyson, there wasn't anything you could do to beat him other than... beat him. So once you did that it really was an amazing sense of accomplishment.

    EDIT: IIRC... 007-373-5963 or something?

    23 played now

Now I must remind people that 2018 is one of the best gaming years ever. Spider-Man is represented here, but I fully expect to see GOW and RDR2. Pretty unreal these all came out then.

Mario Kart 64 is a classic. I still have most of the courses in my muscle memory. N64 had some great 4 player games.

Am I naming the wrong game? Are you naming a different version of the game?

Master of Orion where alien civilizations conquer the galaxy and control different planets in different solar systems? Maybe your thinking of a different Star Wars game?

I’m talking 1993 Masters of Orion. And 1998 Rebellion.

Where travel time between worlds is major factor of the game? Where you build up planetary defenses and factories to build space ships faster. Where the game is mostly played looking at a map of the galaxy. All common features of the two games.

Rebellion felt like the Lucasarts ripoff / Star Wars-ification of Orion.

It was my favorite video game to just kill time playing until earlier this year when I started playing Mario Kart 8 Deluxe.

I never thought Mario Kart 64 would be replaced for me. It’s a fantastic game. I love how fast it moves and the way it’s a brawl at times as much as a race.

The courses are fantastic and unique. There seem to always be new tricks to learn and ways to shave time off a lap. And multi player was so much fun.

    Another Nintendo masterpiece.

The punchline is that around 2005 my PC was woefully out of date and I was pretty much playing games on my SO's PS2. [face_laugh]

I finally beat Mike Tyson some time in college. No one believed me so I had to repeat my efforts. Remains one of my top video game accomplishments.

    Amazing.

My mom would sometimes let me play hooky from school and we’d go to McDonalds and eat breakfast with my grandfather, and I’d always end up at the N64 kiosks playing Mario Kart 64. I’ve played most of the Mario Kart games, and 64 is probably my least favorite. I just don’t think it controls all that well and there aren’t many good tracks in it from what I remember. But I never spent that much time with it.

Marvel’s Spider-Man is fantastic. Swinging around the city feels great, the story is compelling, and I spent a lot of time in that photo mode. I think it has some open world bloat that gets rectified in the superior, more focused Miles Morales sequel/spin-off, but it’s a great game nonetheless.

I probably need both hands to count how many times I’ve started Super Metroid, but only a couple fingers to count how many hours I usually make it in before I bounce off. Not sure why it never sticks. There’s nothing particularly wrong with it, and I love Metroidvanias when they’re done well. Just can’t seem to get over some hump with this one. I’m sure I’ll try again at some point.

Mine is probably beating Wiegraf AND making it through the whole game without losing a single team member in Final Fantasy Tactics.

Turns out I'm decent at games when I don't have to have reflexes.

Realm, not World. Though both of those put me squarely in the top 0.5-1% of all players at the time.

I have nothing quite as impressive. But there was that time I did a twenty minute long battle sequence in Dragon Age Inquisition on nightmare mode where it wasn't possible to save in between.

(it's impressive because I suck at anything higher than normal difficulty)

Ahhh gotcha. Still very impressive. My most rare trophy is Clean Hands from Dishonored 2 and that just put me in the top 4% of players in stealth and patience.

Otherwise my gameplay generally falls in the "unremarkable" category.

My rarest achievement is from American Truck Simulator of all things (which made my list). 0.50%!

    Big Boy
Deliver Train Axles, Tamping Machine and Rails to or from the rail yard in Cheyenne

I figured this would happen as we get further down the list. Way more Nintendo games. Just the one from this lot, which is Spider-Man. It's a brilliant game, one of the best of last gen. Playing it on PS5 with the vastly improved load times is a lovely experience. Does Mile Morales count as a separate game or DLC?

Felt like an actual story mode that accompanied the flight sim that I was terrible at. Navigating the Imperial Academy and playing the Imperial Political game made it feel like a fresh game, and not just "here's the sequel where you get to play as the bad guys"

Believe it or not, I've never actually played Mario Kart 64. My only experience with it is the levels that were recreated on future editions. I've also never played a Metroid that wasn't originally released for the NES or the Gameboy

    Played: 18/65
On the "I should probably play that" list: 13/47 (Fallout, Star Fox 64, Elden Ring, Star Wars: Galactic Battlegrounds, Final Fantasy IX, Castlevania: Symphony of the Night, Donkey Kong Country 2, Civilization, Civilization II, Star Wars: Rebellion, Mario Kart 64, Metroid Prime, Super Metroid)

    Mike Tyson's Punchout
My comments above. I remain skeptical of AmazingB's claim to have beaten the game.

Inty's Rankings of the Games he's played:

    1. Star Wars Arcade Game
    2. Oregon Trail
    3. Mike Tyson's Punchout
    4. Mario Kart: Double Dash!!

    5. The Legend of Zelda
    6. Ms. Pac-Man

    8. Star Wars: X-Wing
