The Mandalorian Ahsoka Morgan Elsbeth

I love that it gives her forces a distinct aesthetic rather than the bog standard stormtrooper. (Which I have no doubt will be coming once Thrawn returns…)

But she’s a very interesting character, moreso than her appearance in the Mandalorian might have initially suggested.

 

When is she going to reveal her true look?

 

She might genuinely be of mixed heritage, hence her more humanlike appearance.

 

But why would Filoni make that decision when she can be cooler?

 

Maybe he wants to keep Thrawn as the only overtly alien Imperial figure. Which was a big thing in the EU and has sort of been maintained in Canon storytelling.

There is also the theory that Morgan is actually a character created by Filoni’s wife in a Clone Wars tie in short story written way back, which described a human nightsister child. I’m blanking on the name but it could reasonably fit.

 

Could be. I personally think Morgan had to hide her Nightsister ethnicity after the genocide, and she looks different in reality from what we see.

Or we might meet a different tribe of Nightsisters.

 

They’ll probably explain in some book that she’s half human half nightsister. Since she doesn’t look nightsister other than her clothes which are snazzy. Unless that’s the look they are giving nightsisters in live action. That would be pretty lame. Give me my pale witches you cowards.

 

I can't think of a single reason Filoni would eschew a witchier look.

 

Making Morgan a Nightsister was a stroke of genius. If she was just an Imperial apologist and sycophant of Thrawn's, she wouldn't be half as interesting.

 

Wonder if Thrawn talked with Morgan about Bendu's prophecy.

 

I’m really liking what they’re doing with Morgan. She was interesting in her debut episode, and I’m glad they aren’t letting this potential go to waste.

Morgan/Ahsoka rematch

 

I love her name! No doubt a combination of Morgan le Fey and, possibly, Báthori Erzsébet. It has a regal quality. A powerful name.
She's also a very interesting character and I hope to learn a lot more about her.

 

I think we should learn more about her. Where she came from. How she became an witch industrialist and imperial of all things. She seems like only half dathomiri though, she doesn't have white skin like zabrak hybrids.

 

I’d say Filoni may have taken inspiration from Morgan Le Fey and Elbereth from Tolkien.

 

Regarding sources of inspiration - in The Mandalorian episode The Jedi parallels with Princess Mononoke were rather clear. Seems like in Ahsoka parallels is continuing, since Morgan, like Lady Eboshi, is leading an expedition with possibility of horrific consequences.

Unless they're retconning the way Dathomir witches look in LA like they did to the Grand Inquisitor in the Kenobi series.

 

Or, as with humans, not all Dathomiri have white skin…

Agreed. Explains how she disarmed one of Ahsoka’s lightsabers during their Mando S2 battle. The average being would not be able to accomplish that.

 

I don't think that was really a retcon, more like a blunder in costume department. I think his character was ruined too. We was actually threatening in Rebels, in Kenobi he was a joke.

All nighsisters had so seems like there should be more tribes then. Ethnic diversity makes no sense in such a small community really. But since dathomiri had other planets once under their control, maybe she is Dathomiri from those colonies.

a big fight will take place between Morgan and Ahsoka. The actress who plays Morgan says they filmed a fight scene for days, as opposed to their last fight which took something like a day to shoot

Seems quite possible, especially since the human girl from the short story, that agreed to go with the survived Nightsister, IIRC, was good with tech.

 

I really wonder if she will make it out of this season
