    One of the 3rd party accessories makers released pictures of SwitchUp(2) in their case, complete with dock pictures already, before the Direct has even started. Docked looks much nicer than Switch 1.

    On the bright side, none of the announced games are system sellers for me, so I can actually sit on this a while.

    Also- ewww the screen is LCD instead of OLED. 120/4K docked is nice but my god its hard for my eyes to see the handheld LCD screens compared to my OLED.

    Well, outside if the tech problems with the stream, that was pretty awesome. Though hilarious that they didn't mention the price- but that's been confirmed to be $449 for the base system, or $499 for the MKW bundle.

    A lot of great things that I've definitely forgotten some already: NSO GCN! (and weirdly with the normal TWW, which i thought for sure would never be included in favor of a TWW HD rerelease), a new DK 3D platformer with fully destructible environments that looks incredibly fun, a new Sakurai-directd Kirby's Air Ride!, a new Hywa game... now, I don't know if TOTK actually includes this in its backstory, but when that trailer mentioned that it was telling the story of The Imprisoning War, my soul left my damn body!!

    I assume that means they're counting on those bundles moving systems. Because that's a $30 savings. Even if you factor out a physical premium cost, that's like $20.

    Or they intend to let MKW offset any hardware tariffs ;).

    EDIT- I also wonder if that download play-style feature may factor into it. I don't think they explicitly showed it being used for any NS2 titles (only NS1 upgrades), but if MKW supports it, then the $80 cost may be trying to offset it being able to be played on a single cart amongst families and friends (ie: instead of costing $180 for 3 carts at $60/person, it now only costs $27-ish per person with a single $80 cart).

    Cool direct but essentially it's a no rush to buy a Switch 2 for me.

    My interests:
    Metroid Prime 4 Beyond will be playable on Switch so don't need a Switch 2. Mouse function looks cool but don't really want to use my coffee table in front of my TV to play. It would feel awkward to sit that way as opposed to just holding a Pro controller.
    Mario Kart World looks fun but it's not a must have on Day 1. It's a title I'll play eventually.
    Hyrule Warriors Age of Imprisonment (coming Winter 2025) looks fun, and I enjoyed the first one, but it's not a selling system game IMO.

    I think I'm going to wait. Frankly, I haven't touched my Switch in over a year, and none of these new games announced are interesting to me

    So bizarre that the FAQ says those selected to be able to preorder will be notified May 8. So either that’s a typo, or the previously reported preorder date of April 9 is wrong. Why wait a month to see if Nintendo will let you preorder when you could’ve already preordered from another retailer?

    Waiting is probably optimal anyway. One because early adopting on tech is always a hassle, and two because while Nintendo cuts prices... basically never, what actually will get cheaper is all the secondary **** like MicroSD Express cards (which are on the pricey end right now) and third party titles.

    Rewatching I noticed one small naming detail (no, not the app changing names)- during the GCN segment it specifies that "Nintendo Switch Online classic game libraries are being renamed to Nintendo Classics", thus the "GCN Nintendo Classics" branding. I wonder if that means 3rd party titles will be less frequent? Or simply just a rebranding echoing Player's Choice?

    Release date is a little too early for me, can't afford day one purchase as I don't start the new job till June so first pay packet wouldn't be till July :(

    On that basis, I suspect I'll get MP4 for the Switch and upgrade to Switch 2 next year after the initial bugs get ironed out and the gaming catalogue grows

    Really want MKW now though [face_plain]
