Ha, yes we have both been satisfied. For real though I need to see Moroff chuck an Imperial over a cliff like K-2SO does.

Thanks Bor Mullet for the clarification. So Cassian didn't want the Ghormans to proceed with the plan as they were not ready.

It keeps throwing me how in these episodes the Ghor language is the equivalent of Prisencolinensinainciusol but for French.

Also, Carro Rylanz is surely named for Robert Caro (acclaimed biographer of Lyndon Johnson and infamous New York urban planning titan Robert Moses) and Mark Rylance (who plays Thomas Cromwell on Wolf Hall), right? You might say this guy is the local power broker on that planet...

Cassian thought they’d get destroyed if they rebelled but that’s also what Luthen wants as the “accelerationist”

Saw was incredible in this. He’s insane in such a charismatic way. You really understand how he leads this motley crew of extremists. And some sweet Onderon reminiscing!

The world building in this is exceptional. Ghorman feels like a real culture and its people feel like how people would react to being under tyrannical rule. It’s so well done. I really like that the Ghorman Front is not as disorganized as the idiots on Yavin but are nowhere near experienced enough yet.

Yeah, the Ghorman stuff is so richly done. I do kind of wish Gilroy went with a less obvious real world inspiration than the French resistance (given how many thousands of interesting rebellions there have been throughout history), but I applaud his total commitment to the concept down to the finest details. I believe every element of it.

The amount of changes and innuendo in the characters and conversations is just phenomenal. Every single actor has bought their A game to this season and well done to all of them. I'm in love with the Ghorman's aesthetic, such as shame you know what is in store for it.

And honestly, in some ways Ghorman to me is symbolic of transitioning from the PT into the OT - the bright colours, the kind of innocence, the opulence all being replaced by the uniformity and monotony of the empire.

Good point. And like Naboo, it’s based on a northern Italian city aesthetic (it’s essentially space Turin, but everyone’s French instead of Italian).

We got an aerial shot of Palmo at one point, and it looks like it has several concentric stone walls with protruding angled bastions. So a bit like the walled Renaissance-era cities in France and Italy with a dash of Minas Tirith.

I think Forrest Whitaker must have had a ball with this role, very similar to his Oscar winning performance.

I guess we now know how he ends up on an oxygen mask in Rogue One.

Yeah. In the official Andor: Declassified video Lucasfilm just published, the creators specifically mention northern Italy, particularly Turin, as their main inspiration.

We're getting some of the best "crazy" Saw ever, and he's even selling madness as a must for rebels. Love it.

And Forest Whitaker was born to play this kind of revolutionary. What a blast!

I love how Saw has the ability to go from wanting to murder someone to preaching to them and converting them.

And the best bit with Saw is we honestly have no idea if that poor guy he shot was really an Imperial mole or if that was just what made a convenient rationalization in his mind to replace him with the kid he trusted more to get the job done.

Yeah my first instinct was that Saw had the device planted on him but I couldn’t tell if there was anything in the scene that was meant to confirm that

I definitely think you're on to something here. And these are exactly the type of winking highbrow history references Tony Gilroy would throw in.

I think it's very interesting in these episodes to see how the walls are beginning to close in on Luthen and Kleya. As a result, they're beginning to even get a little sloppy, what with Luthen demanding quick intelligence and action from Lonni, etc. There's simply no choice, and Luthen probably believes the revolution may soon be self-sustaining without them even if they get taken out.

I do wonder if Luthen's myopic focus on Ghorman is due to the feeling that he's running out of rope. If he doesn't have much time left, one final push to truly ignite rebellion can justify all his work so he can die satisfied.

The dramatic irony of Syril leaving Palmo just as Cassian is arriving is another highlight of this episode. Had they run into each other in the square, which, given the seeming smallness of the city it seems like they surely would have, especially since they're both interacting with Rylanz and the Ghorman Front, a key part of the Imperial conspiracy would have unraveled.

The thing Tubes pulled out of the corpse's pocket looked like nothing at all distinguishable. They pulled out his wallet and Saw yells "There is the evidence! He was recording us! Quickly, come this way and look at this other thing!"

Another thing I love: that the voice of the person giving Cassian his Mission: Impossible crash course is electronically disguised and distorted. All the spycraft stuff is just great, frankly, both Cassian's and Syril's.

When the replacement kid was sweating it out at the end while aligning the device, he almost had a look of ... suspicion and worry. (Outside of the danger of the task). I was almost wondering if he was really the spy, and set up the poor dude who was shot, all so that he could infiltrate the group.

All said, I really love the look of Coruscant in this series. Its just an endless series of depressingly dark, wet, empty garages and concrete staircases and passage ways. Its intimidating, and oppressive for anyone who doesn't live on the top deck in the sunshine. Like the Empire itself.
