I thought Bratt was about as perfect a recast as you could get for Smits. He got his tone, mannerisms, voice, his whole personality just right. And just hearing “Senator Organa!” in this show made me so happy.

As for the rest of the episode, yeah. This was great.

Agreed. If you couldn't get Smits, you can do a hell of a lot worse than Bratt, and I think he'll capture the spirit well enough.

It was also Luthen throwing them a bone after Cassian called him out for not caring about his people. He gets something he wants and gets Cassian and Bix into a better headspace for the fight. So maybe Luthen gets a bit of character development…

    Wow! What an episode!
    Kleya is a revelation!
Very surprised at how sudden Cinta went out. We barely got to see her this season.
    Looking forward to 2BBY!

That line was chilling from Partagaz. And the dude’s response “why did I say that?” shows just how much fear dominates that work environment. Just a tad toxic.

ETA: Looks like Bail Organa will have a big role next week: https://ew.com/andor-creator-recasting-bail-organa-star-wars-benjamin-bratt-11721954

Maybe Bratt is Bail Orgaana or his non-identical twin - Stail Organa

Nice to see more arc work for Bix. She went from trauma and internalizing her pain, self medicating, to actively hunting her tormentors.

In the last arc, her actions were mostly out of necessity and fear, but now we see her shaping into a more focused rebel and weapon. It will be interesting to see if her drug use continues.

The recast worked better then i thought. It was a small nice cameo and he will have a big role in the next two arcs. Nice see Krennic again and at an art show. Love seeing more of Lonnie and with Kleya. Nobody tell his wife. Mon Mothma is really struggling at the Senate

That build of tension was freaking heart pounding, I was literally sweating. What a climax. Simply unbelievable with all the parts coming together. The acting in this episode was unbelievable. All the intersecting arcs, the stakes, the contrasts.

And as always...the dialogue. Mothma v Krennic was next level. Kleya and Lonnie. Man, and Val's monologue - sad.

And well...that use of silence with Gorst - chilling. Bix is clearly radicalised.

The next six episodes are going to be tragic, you just know it.

Earlier it’s revealed that the Empire is moving him to a new site they’re constructing so that he can work with the naval intelligence boys and help train them rather than just be the exclusive tool of the ISB. As fate would have it, who gets tasked to that project from their department but Luthen’s main man on the inside. In fact it’s suddenly occurring to me now that might be why he tasks the other guy with taking the lead and then just sending him over a summary of the brief. He may already know that the project is potentially doomed for failure.

There is something kind of horrible in the fact Gorst was living in Bix's head for obvious reasons while at the same time, he barely even recognises her.

I gotta be honest i was not feeling Cinta's death. It was just ok. She was such a minor character. I felt more for Kleya in the tension in finding the mic

First 3 episodes were jam packed but would've been nice to get a couple scenes over those 3 episodes to check in with Cinta prior to her assignment to kill Tay. Would've helped add some things for her character until her demise here.

If you watch Doctor Who you know that the TARDIS has been unable to get Cinta back to earth so she was not available to film too many scenes for Andor.

These episodes were good, much better than the first three. But so far I didn't find anything particularly memorable and epic. By this point in S1, we already had "The Eye", which was incredible and a whole different league than anything in this season. Time skips really hurt this season, IMO. And it doesn't feel like some of the payoffs are earned or built up properly. I did enjoy Saw Gerrera scenes a lot. It's nice that they finally mentioned and acknowledged his past, and it's easier now to see his Clone Wars character and Rogue One character as one and the same. Hopefully this wasn't the last of him. And Krennic is always a delight.

Setting aside whether S2 so far matches up with S1, the plot point with Kleya is a good example of how this show operates. In almost any other show, the move would be to "make a distraction," some sort of obvious or embarrassing stunt where the distracting agent sees the item has been stolen, drops the act, and the bad guys look confused while everyone goes on with their lives. This show takes a different course and turns Krennic himself into the distraction.

I'm in the same boat. I'm vaguely annoyed that they had to recast because of availability. If he appears more in the next two arcs, I get it. If he's limited to this one scene, it doesn't make sense. The casting is noticeable, but you're right... as far as recasting goes, they did a good job finding an actor who looked, sounded and felt the part. All in all, my reaction is, "I'm not that bothered," and certainly not enough to be distracted from how amazing this series is.

I don’t like that they killed off Cinta the way they did. I feel it’s disrespectful on multiple levels for a queer female character of color to go out like that. I don’t mind that Velcinta is a tragedy, because obviously this whole show is a tragedy. But man, this does not feel right.

This arc itself was very intense in drama, action, even romance scenes, very great episodes, the sixth episode is my favorite of the 3
