But that is what I'm saying what does it matter I don't really care it's just fun speculation and I like the Actors/Characters. It's funny more people have issue with this who claim it's a nothing burger who cares.

Im also getting an undercover CIA Mission Impossible thing from the way Kleya operates Why does Kleya and Luthen live together? They clearly show them wake up both in the shop at night.

I'm heading over to the Imperials of Andor thread. The discussions of intimate relationships of people with fascist tendencies there make far more sense.

    I gave this one a 9/10.

Certainly a thrilling episode all around. Of course Cassian has his apprehensiveness on the idea of these Ghorman rebels being ready for for prime time. So that
Major Imperial and Deedra are keeping a secret about the Ghorman operations from Syril; and it seems as though Syril and Deedra have their own secrets that they're keeping from their superiors. It's a forgone conclusion that the intimate scene with Vel and Cinta would raise eyebrows from unwelcome viewers. I can picture some review bombs on that account. Apparently Jimmy Smits wasn't available at the time to reprise his role as Bail; otherwise he'd be recognizable a mile away. They actually had to have Mon give him the namedrop lol. Some interesting dialogue between Mon and Krennic. Obviously they both have their roles in R1, but I'm almost positive that they don't actually meet throughout the film. It was fairly predictable that, after the intimate scene earlier, something was likely going to happen with either Cinta or Vel. But Cinta gets shot and killed by friendly fire; which I'm sure was still a shocker to everyone. It's an interesting addition to the storyline. And then we see Bix finally getting her revenge.

So now there's going to be another time jump to Episode 7? It's a tad frustrating that they leave some plot holes that you can only hope will be covered in the future events. I assume this last arc will bring everything closer to the events of R1; similar to how R1 connected its events to ANH.

I find the time jumps to be incredibly effective in making the season very unique, and also advancing concepts in a more believable way. Instead of artificially compressing the maturation of events, they develop more realistically this way. I wish Rings of Power had followed that approach.

I feel a little disconnected with the time jumps. Never get mentioned of Brasso, Tay Kolma and now Cinta

Interesting to see the disconnect between Andor and Luther over Ghorman. Luthen is truly cold-blooded, he really is a great foil to the Empire. He’s almost like the Rebellion’s Palpatine in a way, calculating and patient but willing to do anything to win.

I thought Luthien was going to bump-off Bix. When Andor confronted him at the shop there's a moment when I thought - he's realised Andor can't focus while he's worried about her.

i got the same vibe in that scene ^^

whether he was really serious about it or not, he was making a point to Cassian.

I thought he was going there too. But he clearly maintains some empathy. Last season he questioned his decision to sacrifice Kreeger, and sought a way out via Saw. And this season, instead of offing Bix, he tried to resolve the situation by giving her the mission she needed.

It’s even more interesting, though, when we consider that neither of them know what we know - that ISB is deliberately trying to encourage and cultivate this Ghorman Rebel Cell for their own false flag reasons… and that Krennic isn’t so much allowing this plan for the “opportunity” to get at the resources he wants, but merely to try and limit the damage to the Empire when he will ruin the world to take it,

Luthen’s both looking at it as a cold blooded pragmatist ready to accept their likely death, but also as bringing in a higher class of people in the sphere of Rebel influence in an idealistic and valuable propaganda way. Cassian is both looking at this as a bunch of gullible idiots who might get themselves needlessly killed, but also as potential liabilities in the tactical sense because of their inexperience…

And both are a little bit right , because the Ghormans’ fate is already sealed.

I don't know, Luthen doesn't strike me as someone with empathy. He mentions to Bix a couple times that he "needs her healthy" so I'm guessing he still sees her as a useful tool in his toolkit, cold as that sounds, but hey, Luthen is a cold guy.

He has to have some empathy, as why else commit to a life-crushing cause against the empire? He believes in people being free from oppression. And remember his crisis of conscience about sacrificing Kreeger, a decision he thought Saw might be able to get him out of. But Saw ultimately aligned with him. And when he looks at Tay Kolma during Perrin’s wedding speech, clearly feeling awful for what he’s about to do. He has empathy. He’s not a sociopath. He just intellectually and emotionally sets it aside if the cause of the rebellion calls for it.

I’d even say his intellectual empathy for people in general outweighs his emotional empathy for specific people. He’s an extreme utilitarian. Pushing for the happiness of the maximum number of people possible. And if that means some people have to suffer and die to realize that vision for all, he’ll do it.

Oh I believe he had empathy at one point, but it became one of the many things he realized he had to sacrifice in order to fight the Empire. I'm reminded of that "Dark Knight" quote, "you either die a hero or live long enough to become the villain." He's committed to the life-crushing cause because he's too far gone at this point. One could even say he is a villain, he just doesn't know it. Or at the very least an anti-hero.

When did he have a crisis of conscience about sacrificing Kreeger? As far as I remember he tried to convince Saw to join the operation because he thought Kreeger needed the help but Saw declined at first. Lonni was the one who wanted to warn Kreeger but Luthen wouldn't hear it.

You missed the follow-up scene with Saw. Luther tells Saw about the fact that Kreeger and co will be sacrificed to protect Lonni. And Saw asks why Luthen is telling him, and asks “what if I tell Kresge?”, and Luthen says because he’s not sure he wants to go through with it, and so gives Saw the opportunity to warn Kreeger. But then Saw ultimately agrees that sacrificing Kreeger is worth it. A sacrifice. “Call it what you like,” says Luthen. “Call it war,” says Saw.

I gave this an 8/10 on first viewing, having watched it again I'd probably give it 10/10. There's a lot of subtleties, in the art gallery scene, the dialogue between Mon and Krennic was really well done, I loved the double talk, I'm just surprised the Empire hasn't arrested Mon yet.

I know I'm incredibly slow here, but is Tay Kolma confirmed to be dead, or are we just being asked to connect the dots?

We're being asked to connect the dots. But I'm pretty sure he is. Unless the "accident" Cinta was referring to was a botched assassination.

My favorite little Easter egg in this episode was the ancient Togrutan urn that Kleya offers as a gift to Sculden's antiquities lady.

    9 out of 10.

My favorite episode of the second season so far.

Good amount of action and intrigue across the various plot lines.

Saw Guerrera. I mean this as both a compliment and insult. But the man is a ****er. He's dangerous. Needs therapy. Was useful before. Needs to retire for counseling. Nonetheless, he wouldn't have been effective for long if he hadn't learned from his marvelous sister. She was the true leader and he functioned best a secondary leader. He wasn't as wise as she. Saw is really tragic due to his trauma, his PTSD.
