There really should be a Visual history of Thundercats book, like the Ghostbusters or the Batman one,

or if there is one I don't know of it

 

Thanks Dandelo. A Visual History of Thundercats is needed. I was thinking there ought to be a proper 90 minute or 2 hour documentary made with the writers, cast, composers etc, the special features I've seen are among the most bare bones possible.
Maybe it's not popular enough?

The 3rd Annointment trial in the maze is entertaining. Monkian had Lion-O in his sights and missed like 4 easy shots lol. It's funny, Lion-O is trying to complete this trial while battling mutants and the maze creatures.
It's like a football match where you've got snakes on the pitch and people doing archery in the arena.

 

Today I had a trip to the city of Malaga, which sits amidst mountains on the Costa del Sol. It’s a huge city of tower blocks, with an old district in the centre and a series of castles sitting above the port on adjoining hills.

This the view of the river that passes through the city, at this time of year you can see how dried up it is:

After walking along a lengthy boulevard we reached the old town, full of impressive architecture from the renaissance onwards, as well as ruins from the Roman era:


This impressive tower was part of the church of St John. Sunday Mass was in service inside, and painted murals adorned the wall on the opposite side:




As @s_heffley always points out, even the more modest churches in Europe are lavish

This is the cathedral of Malaga, and you can spot that one of the bell towers was never completed. Speculation is that the money meant to finish the cathedral was instead sent to the American colonies to help with their independence, though Wikipedia wasn’t sure this was 100% true:


The cathedral has an impressive front facade, though unfortunately its adjacent to a square that’s too small to take it all in properly:


The view round the back is a bit more impressive:


This is one of the castles in the city, the Alcazaba, and below that the antique Roman amphitheater:


There was a viewing window down to some 4th century AD Roman baths, where a cat had somehow found a way down and was sunbathing!


A sculpture created by Jewish philosopher Salomon ben Gabirol, who was a resident of Malaga during his life in the 11th century. I’m not sure if it’s meant to be a representation of Gabirol himself constructed later, or one of his actual sculptures, as the information sign was a little unclear:


We began to ascend to the higher of Malaga’s two castles, Gibralfaro Castle. The hilltop posting gives great views of the city, including of this bullfighting arena, where we could see a matador practicing with his red flag:


A southward view of the port of Malaga, which has been in continuous use since the city was founded by Phoenician colonists some 2800 years ago:


The castle grounds had been turned into a series of pleasant gardens:

A small museum in the castle showed off evolving Spanish military uniforms:



It also contained this model diorama of the city’s main buildings, which I think is a nice way to wrap up:

 

I have since discovered we have churches like that here too

I just grew up going to more contemporary ones. But Catholic (and Protestant churches that are pretty much Catholic adjacent) can be pretty grand.

I read just yesterday that Malaga was voted the friendliest city to visit in the world

 

Still celebrating SW here.
After Rogue One, I watched Star Wars since they connect perfectly.
Tonight, rewatched TCW episode Cloak of Darkness.
Quite enjoyed that.
Luminara criticizing Ventress' lightsaber forms is classic!

 

A classic episode! Just great character work on Luminara/Ventress/Ahsoka and storytelling. Did not see the twist coming.

@Dagobahsystem a documentary on Thundercats would be awesome, but yeah I don't think it would be popular enough now, then again...a new big budget He-Man movie has been announced and I think in production, so who knows?

RYL's thinking dinosaur: I don't get it, during 2019/2020 people had nothing to do...now we can't arrange a bishop's party in a bar, what gives?

The face shape isnt perfect, but since we never got a buildable figure Battledroid back in 2015 (which was weird cause Grievous and k2so were the best looking figures) im happy with the overall result


Time to start building a bigger droid army...
