Syril’s actor performed some truly excellent facial acting in the couple of seconds between Cassian’s “who are you?” and Syril taking a bolt to the head. We watch as the last remnant of that man’s prior perception of reality completely shatters in that moment. A fitting ending for an ultimately tragic character.

Damn that was so great and intense, Mon Mothma's speech although it was little different from the Rebels version on hologram. Yess Emperor Palpatine is a butcher. Surprised Wilmon survived so far and he got his girlfriend. Hello there K2SO, so they write Bix off in a farewell goodbye thats very good she wont for and could appear in shows or movies post ROTJ. Ghost refference and Gold Squadron nice, i still unsure about the Bail Organa recast, he dosent have Jimmy smith charisma

Hmm, actually I think I am not a fan of what they did to Bix in this arc. Last arc she wanted to fight and not be useless, we ended with her getting revenge on Gorst and blowing up a building, as she regained her confidence and spirit... And in this arc, she is basically a housewife, who does nothing. Reminds me a little too much of Padme, who got the same treatment in Revenge of the Sith: sad pregnant housewife. I thought they would lead to Bix becoming a part of the Rebellion, equal to Cassian, but I guess she's just his love interest and that's it. And then she made a decision for him and just ditched him. "We need to win", and by "we" I mean you should stay and fight (and die as we know), and I will go somewhere else, cause you just love me too much. Maybe my opinion will change on a rewatch, but as of now, I think something more interesting could have been done with her character. Maybe in the next arc.

How is potentially sacrificing all that she loves and cares about in the universe for the greater good not "interesting". Media literacy is truly dead.

    There are few greater sacrifices.

You don't need that much "media literacy" to get it. It was spelled out. So you can get off the high horse. I just did not find it an interesting direction for the character. You did? Good for you. Plenty of characters on the show sacrificed everything and were in love, see Vel and Cinta, for example. But they were still fighting, and still put the cause ahead of their feelings. I find fighter characters more interesting than sad housewives characters. My opinion.

Bix was going to fight..the way I read it she left on a mission far away as if she stayed with Cassian he could not be the hero going forward he needed to be. He was trying to get out of it the night before She was too much of a distraction. So she left forcing his hand to stay

It was spelled out and you still missed the point. Bix knows/feels how important Cassian will be going forward. And she knows he won't accomplish any of that if hes still with her. So none of those other situations compare. She did put "the cause" ahead of her feelings. And she said she is joining with another rebel group. Were you really watching this? So not only did she do what you wanted her to do (continue fighting on), she also scarified the love of her life to do it, and so he would be forced to do it too.

    Ya, real sad housewife there...

I thought it was kinda ambiguous what he was going to do and I thought the worked great in that light because in the end it didn’t really matter what his intentions were. His fate was sealed by developments that had already transpired long ago. Maybe he deserved it, and maybe he didn’t, but under the Empire it makes no difference. Everyone is fighting for their lives. There is no time for dialogue. Cassian can’t afford to find out more about the situation before he acts, so he shoots first and asks questions later. It’s the same thing with Syril, there are clues that suggest he didn’t really need to die there, but the circumstances aren’t exactly conducive to launching that investigation so die he does anyways and the chance for Cassian or the Ghor to learn where he truly stood is lost forever. The Empire is a steamroller and whether you were with it or against makes no difference once you’re the one standing in its path. The sergeant clearly didn’t want to send his green unit into that tinderbox but did that help him any more than if he’d followed the orders enthusiastically? Individual choices only matter so much, it’s the system that needs to be changed or the tragedies will keep happening.

Spectacular ending to a spectacular arc. These three episodes were some of the finest television I've ever seen.
I think this episode was my favorite of the three; I could barely breath through Mothma's speech and the escape from the Senate.

I still don't like the Bail recast though. While he gives a good performance, it's impossible for me to recognize Bratt as Bail.

I was thinking something similar -- intense in a different way.

Perhaps I missed them in previous episodes, but I like that the Senate Guards, while far less regal, still wear blue like they did in the Prequels. That sense of continuity is a nice touch and whoever added that detail to the show deserves a raise.

When Cassian and Bix were having what, seemingly is their last conversation, I was wondering if she'd somehow survive the series and that maybe she was just somewhere else on Yavin when he went to Jedha, but it looks like her fate is up in the air, for the time being. Farewell, Bix. I'm starting to get the feeling that the show may leave a few loose ends that will drive many of us mad...

If they wont kill off Bix, i am thinking maybe some of the other characters might survive like Kleya and Vel. They wont kill off all the cast in the last arc

I was struggling to recall whether the concourse was all of that open glass when we saw it in Attack of the Clones. I feel it was enclosed and much darker. If that is the case, I appreciate how Sidious had the Senate renovated to be a bright, cheerful place filled with natural light after the Republic became the Empire.

Agreed. There's no way the next three episodes are going to be a "Hey, you didn't see 'em in Rogue One cuz they all dead!" -fest.

But what about Luthen...? That's the big one. He's never seen in R1 or the OT. Could he still be behind the scenes? Unlikely -- and probably not preferable for the sake of the character's impact -- but possible.

It’s definitely been renovated. The whole concourse that connects the Senate Office Building to the Senate House is not present in the prequels. And then hallways look different as well.

I think next arc we see the death Of Lonnie and Luthen the two big spies of Andor. And the other characters was elsewhere during Rogue One. Vel might still be alive during Ahsoka.

Mon's speech and the extraction plot were amazing. Really incredible stuff. It's the mark of a great show that I was on the edge of my seat the whole time even though I knew Mon and Cassian would escape.

I noticed that too -- replacing the huge ferrocrete slab in front of the Senate Dome with an apparently needed annex and reflecting pool is some fun, literal, world building. And how brightly it's been lighted is a great contrast to the gray, rainy tones whenever we see ISB HQ. Such a beautiful show.

That makes complete sense. I'm thinking Kleya might have to go too.

Speaking of Lonnie, it's interesting that the Organa team's infiltrator was "one of Supervisor Jung's agents." He's in so deep that in order to maintain his own cover and fulfill his role he has to have actual ISB agents planted in the Rebellion. What a tight wire act.

If any episode can add me to the Andor is the best SW show ever, this maybe it. I pretty much know what is going to happen throughout; Mon Mothma gives her speech and makes its to Yavin, Cassian survives but loses Bix. Still, I was on the edge of my seat. There were enough wonderful, subtle, elements to keep me guessing. I too thought Kloris might just aid Mothma. Erskin being the same "good guy" he was in Rebels. Wonderful.

There’s one simple line in this episode that encapsulates what’s so brilliant about this show.

Mon Mothma to Cassian: You shot that woman!

The line actually shocked me the first time I watched the scene (have already watched this twice…) because I’ve been watching Cassian shoot people since 2016. But Mon Mothma has never seen anyone shot. And so she was totally shocked and almost immobilized in that moment.

The writers never, ever, sacrifice character for plot. And that’s why, for me, it’s the best Star Wars we’ve gotten so far.

    10/10, without hesitation.

Another very good episode. I was expecting this would be in the final episode though but seems they are going to perhaps explain more what lead to the Andor's trip to Kafrene in the last trilogy of episodes.

Mon Mothma's speech is worded a bit differently than in Rebels, but I guess she gave that uninterrupted speech (In which she calls Palpatine lying executioner) later as mentioned in this episode when they are in the safehouse and then one rallying cry for rebels above Dantooine (as shown in Rebels).

So I guess continuity works now with Andor saving Mothma from the Senate, Gold Squadron and Erskin delivering her ship Chandrila Mistress to Rendezvous with the Ghost and Hera and the rest deliver her to Dantooine and later to Yavin. Later other rebel senators join her there. But where she was during the Battle of Yavin? She was not there in ANH. This needs explanation now though.

In Rogue One she seems to be leaving when the officer runs up to tell her about the fighting on Scarif. So I just assume she’s not there during the battle of Yavin. She’s not a military leader so her presence isn’t necessary (she’s not at Endor either for example) and keeping her safe as the leader of the Rebellion is probably more important than her being there for the battle.
