CT Your favorite Darth Vader line or moment?

"The emperor will show you the true nature of the force. He is your master now."



The way James Earl Jones delivers this line really has something dark, eerie about it...

 

My favourite Vader line by FAR:

 

I can hear that in JEJ's voice.

 

I have a shirt of this and it says, "Give me some space." Lol.

 

There’s a sadness I sense about him too that gives another layer.

 

I don't know which one is my favorite, but here's one I liked: "Asteroids do not concern me, admiral."

 

Agreed, plus its immediate follow-up: "I want that ship, not excuses."

 

Vader does speak differently to the way Anakin spoke, Vader is more imperious (pun probably intended) , let's face it he would've changed a lot after his awful injuries, he's a Lord now etc.

 

Most of his lines are cool so it's hard to pick. This one was said casually but you can feel the creepiness - "We would be honored... if you would join us."

 

Vader is at his snarky best in Empire, although he seems even angrier in ANH

This may be steering slightly off the true nature of the topic-but I always wondered why Vader says "The Rebels are alerted to our presence. Admiral Ozzel came out of lightspeed too close to the system."

I'm no military strategist-so my question is, why is THAT a bad idea compared to Ozzel's idea of showing up in full force out of the blue and catching the Rebels completely off guard? That seems like a good tactic to me, as it would send them scrambling chaotically. Coming out of lightspeed outside of the Rebels detection range is great and all-but wouldn't they eventually come within range ANYWAY? What's the difference in effectiveness of having them come in range now vs. later?

 

@DARTH_BELO , I don't know if there's a canon answer, but my theory is that coming out of lightspeed must release an awful lot of energy as all the power of ships travelling faster than light must be released and dispersed somehow, probably as a tremendous surge of some kind of radiation which is easily detected. So maybe it's possible to come out of hyperspace at a distance and then sneak in closer before being detected.
