That’s going to be interesting. The sheer size of such a project defies believability. Once one person finds out what’s going on, how hard of a sell is it getting the next person to believe them?

I was so swept up in the goings on around Mon Mothma’s speech - what she was saying didn’t land for me as a great fictional speech. It was another dramatic element added to the intense spy game played out on screen to great success. Mon giving it was like practice for when she gives the version of that speech on Rebels. And it created a great sound scape for what else was going. But my attention was keyed into the actions out side the senate chambers.

What did surprise me with its dramatic weight was Bix’s speech. That’s the one that really landed and affected me.

Anytime I see the senate post ROTS I'm just reminded that they're talking in the same place where this happened years ago

This episode made me really want to see a show about politics in Star Wars like a show about the origin of Palpatine or about the decline of the New Republic and the origin of the First Order

I really, really appreciate how this arc has gently threaded in the concepts of fate and spirituality. Andor is different from other Star Wars in so many ways, but those little nods to destiny are something that brings it into unity with the whole. Marrying that sense of optimism and a higher power with gritty realism and a historical feel is so, so brilliant.

The first seven episodes this season have felt like something is missing. I don't mean that in a bad way, just that I left each episode wanting more. The last two episodes, however, have nailed the tone and tenor and have been everything I felt was missing and more. The suspense has been off the charts. The payoffs have left me damn near speechless. After episode 8, I was afraid of watching 9 because I thought there would be a letdown, but it didn't disappoint. We all know Cassian and Mon survive, but they still managed to build the suspense through their escape from the Senate building. There's so many things I want to say, but I can't find the words to express how truly great this season has been.

10/10. Somehow it rivals ep8 for tension and pacing. Amazing job.

My favourite moment was probably when Mon drops her senator cloak and becomes the rebellion leader we all know and love. Beautifully done.

Anyone else get birth of cyborg Vader vibes with K2 coming back online? But instead of a big "Noooooo" we hear an affable, polite voice.

I don't know if anyone involved in the making of this show ever visits TFN, but if you are reading: amazing job.

    Bring on the Bothans...

They should save the Bothans' storyline for the series or movie that leads into RotJ, unless they want to have some Bothans dying now, and many Bothans dying later.

Confusion about when the many Bothans died is a weirdly persistent thing in fandom, even among hardcore fans. It’s obviously due to the fact of two separate Death Stars, and the line being so iconic, but still, it’s a strangely widespread error. We need a sociological study on it!

    Just realised something:
saw someone point out that when Luthen meets Mon practicing her speech he is dressed like when he goes to meet Lonni, he proceeds to tell Mon Bail’s team is corrupted and that she can’t absolutely tell anybody… then we hear thirst the ISB agent was planted by “supervisor Jung”
    That’s Lonni
Lonni planted the ISB agent in Bail’s team and then alerted Luthen so that they could organize another plan
Lonni is risking it all here that’s why Mon cannot tell anybody… to protect Lonni!

I also noticed that the ISB plant was Lonni’s, but I couldn’t fully understand why he would’ve done that. But your explanation makes perfect sense. ISB leadership wanted to set a trap for Mothma, and so they propose to get a plant into a rebel extraction team. And Lonni proposes his agent so he can keep track of their planning and movements, and thereby inform Luthen of what’s happening. And nobody will be the wiser as Lonni’s agent is legit.

Regarding Mothma’s need to stay silent, that’s also Luthen protecting himself, of course.

I may have liked this one better than Who Are You and that’s saying something. It’s also another cautionary tale with real world parallels of threats to arrest members of Congress for opposing Dear Leader.

I loved Mon’s speech, and her escape with Cassian.

They are but 7 is underrated, it does a lot of the heavy lifting to allow 8 and 9 to shine.

    Not with me. I gave 7 a 10 too. :)

I especially love the scene between Mothma and the Ghorman Senator.

I actually liked 7 even more than 9. The Force healer scene just landed the blending of the mystical tone with the grounded feel, made itself felt throughout the episode (and arc), and really gave me something to think about. It was something that I didn't think was missing until I got it. The rest of that episode was fantastic, also, but the Force healer really stood out to me as a high point of the series.

I give this one an 8.5. The incredible speech by Mon, second only to the Maarva speech, was one of the most moving in TV I've ever seen. Just absolutely brilliant directing and editing. To have the getaway of Mothma build to such a crescendo. Granted episode 10 will outdo this, at the time it was quite something.

That arc of Mon's speech, the build up to it, its delivery and her and immediate escape is even better on re-watch. In a show with so many breath-taking segments, I think this somehow transcends them all.
