I love that ultimately, she became the MVP. Keeping her alive also allows you to imagine how the rebellion became stronger and stronger with her helping to run things in the background.

With her lifetime spent wearing different disguises and assuming different roles, I was thrilled to see her return in Return of the Jedi as "General Crix Madine".

Rumour has it, she was actually impersonating Akbar when the famous line was delivered.

Hogwash. Kleya Marki is not fearful of traps, no matter what costume she is wearing.

In her future show set during the OT, we will learn that Kleya’s code name is “Many Bothans.”

It's funny, I was thinking about the Mon's "Many Bothans" remark after watching the final episode today. I had to remind myself that she says it in ROTJ; obviously in reference to Death Star II. It's silly to think that Kleya would be the "Bothans" that she's talking about, but maybe Kleya leads them in spying for plans about the new DS. It's kind of a shame that they gave her a backstory with Luthen only in the last two episodes; and that might be the last we see of her character at all. She's not named at all in R1, right?

We will watch her future with great interest. Very clearly, she could carry an entire spy-based show set in the OT and I think people would LOVE to see that.

I have a good feeling about this.

A Rebel Alliance spy network run by Kleya is the way.

The interesting catch is the reveal that the Bothans were ultimately used to get the Rebels misinformation - that the Emperor wanted the Rebel Alliance to know he was there as bait but that the Death Star would have a working super laser and a trap set for the fleet and strike team.

…Which means that a Kleya story in the timeframe could either show her realizing the horrible truth too late to stop the attack, or alternatively find something suspicious about the Bothan intro action sounding too perfect.

The Bothans, another false saviour like Tay Kolma. I hope they canonise Borsk Fey’lya just for that.

“They seek her here, they seek her there
    Those Imperials seek her everywhere
Is she in heaven or is she in hell?
    That damned elusive Rebel, Kle-ya”

She is in heaven. Because she is an angel.

And not the sort that deep space pilots or little dirt children with no game talk about.

Indeed. Kleya was very clever and fabulous. To thin this was Elizabeth Dulau's first acting job. She nailed it.

If you watch this scene, you'll find that Kleya, Cassian, and Melshi are all fairly exhausted. Well, Kleya feels overwhelmed by the discovery of the Death Star. It's analogous to a spy discovering that the enemy possessed nukes in real life. But this show really makes ya sympathize with espionage agents who get the job done. Cassian is like, "Okay. I'm tried. What the heck is going on? I believe you. But how do we prove it?" Also, Luthen essentially was trying to discover something like this for many years to help give the Rebellion a shot at dismantling the Empire through coordinated strategy.

This is reflected in the original trilogy. ANH and ROTJ are similar but different stories. If you look at it through the lens of the old EU, Palpatine and his advisors made grave miscalculations. The Death Stars gave the galaxy a reason to rally against the Empire, and as you can imagine, not all Rebels concurred with what should come after the Empire. In contrast, in TESB, which is many people's favorite in the CT, including yours truly, a purely naval strategy actually was more successful in that it forced the Rebels to remain on the run. That's what's crazy about all this. The Death Stars could obliterate entire worlds, and yet their very existence caused disparate rebels to join together to destroy them. For differing reasons both Vader and Thrawn opposed the Death Stars but reluctantly went along with the plans. So, yeah. Kleya has a reason to feel tired. In her mind, Luthen was morally ambiguous and I get the vibe from her facial expressions she didn't relish the dark side of the rebel spy network in the same manner that Luthen did. Even so, Luthen was the closest thing to a father she had. This is just my take. She admired his intellect but also felt sorry for him due to his PTSD. Also, Cassian was right. Bail Organa would agree more with Luthen than he would admit.
