I think it was implied, in the Sculdun party episode, that he was very close to Krennic.

Krennic and ISB's collaboration in general seems like a very interesting plot point, especially since it gives his overconfidence in RO additional layer of justification. And, IIRC, in early drafts of the film Krennic was an ISB spy, infiltrating the Alliance, so he somewhat returned to his roots. Maybe, for Partagaz Tarkin's methods were too brutish, and partially because of that he and Orson eventually found common ground.

The portrayal of Imperials on Andor is better than any other show, movie, or video game across the board including the OT. Every character, from the ones with large and/or meaty roles like Dedra, Partagaz and Krennic to the Imps with smaller roles like Lagret, and Heert, were all awesome.

I'm going to include Lonni in there too. He was a mole but also an Imp. I'm going to throw Syril in there too. Is he technically an Imp? Doesn't matter. He worked with them. Such a great character! One of the best in the entire franchise.

Heck even the characters that had super small roles like Linus Mosk from season 1 and the tall, bald, mustached Imperial swat team guy that went after Kleya, Andor, and Melshi. Those dudes rocked!

I love how Partagaz bit back at Krennic.

The ISB kept the Death Star secret for nineteen years, but of course Krennic doesn't give a damn.

Every single Imperial character's ending was perfect. We should have a poll for who went out the best.

    Was it:

Karn (blaster bolt to the back of the head after realizing you gave your life to evil and no one who mattered cared)
Meero (seeing your fanatical loyalty to keeping the Empire safe turned into an accusation of spying and spending the rest of your life in the prison you helped to build)
Heert (getting your neck snapped by a droid and used as a ragdoll human shield to block bolts from your own men)
Partagaz (screwing up so badly you must commit blaster-seppuku rather than face the consequences)
Krennic (getting vaporized by the very machine you dedicated your life to after it's stolen out from under you)

Not including Lonni because my boy was a rebel at heart RIP to a real one.

Meero's is obviously the most poetic but I gotta give a shout out to maybe one of the most viscerally disturbing visuals with Heert's death. Couldn't have happened to a nicer guy. Loved to see his character develop from the minor assistant in the first season, to Dedra's rival and eventual replacement, to crash test dummy.

I gotta go with Syril. Syril realizing that he he had been used by his girlfriend and the Empire and seeing him in emotional chaos while surrounded by the actual chaos of the Ghorman massacre was stunning. Then we got the combination of Cassian asking, "who are you" and Syril getting killed by the pacifist Ghorman leader who was for a while seemingly friends with him was amazing stuff.

There's a delicious bit of irony to how Lonni is SO GOOD at both his jobs that he's both the reason Bail's team has an infiltrator in Mothma's extraction, and yet also the reason it fails because he leaked enough to Luthen for Luthen to send in Cassian.

Dude is both the greatest threat to Mothma's security in the ISB and the biggest asset in Axis saving her... but Lagret can't even shut down a TV broadcast.

Partagaz preferred to blow his brains out than be forced to face Palpatine or Vader and what they would've had planned for him, that says it all.

Wait, how is Lonni responsible for Bail's team being compromised? I missed that part.

At one point during the scenes in the Imperial surveillance HQ, they referred to the infiltrator on Bail's extraction team as "Jung's agent".

The characters are a result of fantastic actors being given a fantastic script - iconic scenes in an iconic show.

Lagret is a nice little side character because he represents that element in the ISB that is thoroughly mediocre yet continues to sail along in his career, maybe because he has connections or maybe because he does the bare minimum and doesn't piss anyone off too much. He's frequently the most incompetent guy in the room in ISB scenes but seems to face few consequences in comparison to others. It emphasises that whatever its posturing, the ISB is far from a meritocracy.

It’s implied during the Sculdun party scene that he’s a “friend” of Krennic’s.

This show was so perfectly cast, down to the most minor characters. They choose perfect people for their acting and their faces. The forensic team that comes in to inspect Luthen and Kleya’s shop, for example. Perfect.

I know a few Lagrets professionally, unfortunately. All of that is true.

I think Heert was my favorite Imperial. I also really liked his voice. It was like inquisitive and sneering at the same time. His inexperience was blinding, however. His ascendancy to supervisor must’ve raised eyebrows.

I was waiting for someone on his team to ask how many combat drops that one would’ve been for him. His response would’ve 38 — simulated.
