'07 Meet

Again I must appologise for my absence, BT are making a right pigs ear of putting in the new phone line so I'll be withought the net for a little while longer. But that shouldnt stop us discussing the thought of a new meet, even if it is just to go bowling and have a few drinks. I propose we have it in the Red Dragon Center in Cardiff Bay. Theres a few places to eat, a cinema, bowling alley and a casino if anyone feels like loosing some money. Its a little way out of the town center but theres a train running down about every 1/2 hour for about £3 return.

Any comments or suggestions will be great, I wont start discussing dates yet better to see what everyone thinks of this idea first.

Sounds good, I'm up for it, but I will need a few weeks notice because of work commitments etc

 

Any meet in Cardiff is fine by me, very low travel cost of wandering down the road

That said i missed the last meet because of a prior engagement, hopefully this won't happen this time

Of course, I was thinking maybe a weekend in March? Just throwing a date out here, the weekend of the 10th? Hows that sound to everyone?

 

I guess the weekend of the 10th doesnt sound to good to everyone. How about everyone gives a idea of when they will be available and then we can go from there.

 

The 10th sounds as good a time as any to me, but i'm flexible if other people want to try other times

I'm afraid I can't do the weekend of the 10th either, or the 17th for that matter, but I would be able to do the weekend of the 24th or 31st.

 

Ok how about we change to the weekend of the 24th? I cant do the 31st as I'm heading off to Kenya on the Monday. Also what would everyone prefer more, movie or bowling? Cause doing both would get expensive if everyone wants a meal after to.

 

Hmm... Well in movie, we can't REALLY talk without people getting annoyed. But I also suck at bowling.
As long as everyone looks away when I bowl, everything should be fine!

Can't think of any others..... Oh! Bowling for Columbine! Though there's very little bowling in it truth be told.

 

Bowling does seem a better idea if we are to have a chat, but I too am really bad (I even suck at Wii bowling and came 4th in every match played so far).

I take it we will be going for a few drinks afterwards, maybe a bite to eat?

 

Ok seems like bowling on the 24th it is! Drinks and eating after is a good idea, there's a nice American themed restaurant in the red dragon centre which does lots of different stuff, but there's other choices if people want to go somewhere else.

 

Hiya, and sowwy for randomly invading the Welsh forum I can usually be found lurking on the South forum but to cut a not-so-long story short, i have a new job working for the railway, yay for free travel, and there's a train that goes straight to Cardiff from here So count me in whenever there's a meet up! Nice to meet y'all

Sorry guys but due to someone from my work quitting recently I'm the only one who can cover his shifts so I wont be able to come to the meet on the 24th, so I guess we should postpone it until a later date.

 

Any suggestions for a re-schedule?

As i've said living in Cardiff, i'm quite flexible so others can suggest dates and times that suit them

 

Yay, i wanna go to a meet!
I work every other week so there's a 50% chance i can make it, can make weekdays or Saturdays, no Sundays cos of lack of trains though :/
