Full Series 1.01-1.02 "Spark of the Rebellion" Discussion Thread (Spoilers Allowed)

This is the official thread for the Star Wars: Rebels film. All spoilers must be spoiler-tagged until the official airing of the movie on Friday, Oct. 3rd. All non-spoiler discussion remains in the appropriate non-spoiler thread for Rebels. Have fun, folks!

 

For starters, it won't be as bad as the Clone Wars movie.

Well I would hope so because I would hope they would have learned something over 8 or so years of animation.

 

Nothing is as bad as the CW movie.

 

Eh, it isn't that bad.

Don't get me wrong, it's pretty bad. But there's been worse.

 

My friend and I made a bet to see if we could sit through the movie 3 times in a row. It only fueled my hatred.

 

Try doing the same bet but with the holiday special. Or you could read Crucible. Your opinion of the movie will slightly improve.

Not a hard thing to achieve...

 

Anakin's general WTF-ness at the beginning, Obi-Wan being a massive troll about the whole Padawan thing, and Ahsoka having absolutely no idea what she's doing are why I love the parts on Christophsis and most of Teth. Tatooine's where it started to bog down.

I just laugh through the first twenty minutes of it. Especially the way Rex completely looses it when Ahsoka invents "Skyguy".

 

Only thing I liked about the TCW movie was the Battle of Christophsis, especially the scene before Ahsoka showed up. Some pretty nice Anakin and Obi-Wan chemistry there, along with just a great battle scene.

The rest of it didn't feel like they should've made a movie about it at all. I don't want to see Jedi go hunt down Jabba the Hutt's little son who keeps getting sick all the time.

 

Looking forward to this.

 

I honestly think this is going to be pretty good. Everything I've suggests Disney are hitting the ground running with Rebels

 

Isn't this available on the Watch Disney XD app/website starting today? Or is that later?

 

Is it just me or does the Wookiee's look absolutely atrocious?

It should be available online to people who get DisneyXD through their cable provider on Monday the 29th.

I am once such sort and I will be here that evening with spoiler tags a plenty, I'm sure.

 

So just go to the DisneyXD website or is it elsewhere?

 

well it should be on the 'Watch DisneyXD" app available for Apple, Android, and Roku devices, but I think it'll be on their website somewhere too. Not sure where, I'm going to be watching it on my Roku personally.

Considering that everything I've heard from people who saw it at Comic-Con is positive, and none of them were paid to see it, I've got a good feeling about this.
