13 Severed Hands

The title says it all.
In all 6 Star Wars movies (this is not including CW, any books, comics) 13 hands were cut/ripped off!
Let us start with TPM and work our way from there!

TPM:
-No hands were removed. D:

AotC:
-Random guy in a bar gets their hand chopped off by Obi-Wan.
-Then Dooku cuts off Anakin's hand!

RotS:
-Count Dooku gets BOTH of his hands cut off by Anakin!! (Karma anyone?)
-The General Grievous looses two of his hands!
-Then Anakin chops off Mace Windu's arm (BAD ANAKIN)
-The of course, Obi cuts off Anakin's other hand as well as both of his legs.

ANH:
-Threepio gets his arm ripped off by a tusken raider (Don't see it happen, but you do see the arm laying on the ground)
-Then Obi-Wan cuts off ANOTHER jerk in a bar's arm.

ESB:
-The giant snow beast (Can't forget this poor guy) got his arm chopped off by Luke!
-And then the most FAMOUS hand removal probably of all time, Darth Vader chops off Luke's hand.

RotJ:
-And finally: Luke chops off Vader's hand only to find out that they both have robotic hands. Aw touching moment.

THERE YOU GO! 13 severed hands!!!! Anyone who's read a SW book, comic, or who watches the Clone Wars (I don't), can you think of anymore severed hands?

There are enough severed hands in Star Wars for there to be a specific term for it, another one for arms, and then another one for other limbs in general.

 

A most disturbing recurring event.

 

I think it would probably take an eternity to list all of the severed limbs that were begotten during video games, comics, the micro series, and books.

 

Ready to bet someone out there had enough free time on their hands to compile the whole thing

 

Those hands were severed so they can be in spin offs.

 

Its also important to note that if you cut off someones hand you will get your hand cut off later on....unless you are Obi-Wan.

 

Like QGR said, it would take forever to list all hands lost in the EU. Two of note, though, were Luke Skywalker losing his right hand a second time to Lumiya, and Darth Caedus losing his whole arm to his sister.

Also, I don't mean to be picky, but the first "guy in the bar" who lost a hand to Obi-Wan (in AotC) was the female Clawdite bounty hunter Zam Wesell. The second (in ANH) was the Aqualish pirate Ponda Baba.

The giant snow beast was a female Wampa, who was nicknamed One-Arm after Luke cut her right arm off.

Anyway, that's my two bits!

 

Doesn't Luke lose his right hand again in Dark Empire? That'd make a grand total of THREE times he's lost that thing...

 

Yoda lops the arm off one of the 501st in ROTS when he and Obi-wan storm the Jedi temple. IIRC

 

Possibly, all I know is he should seriously invest in a 'How to avoid getting your hand chopped' class. Better yet, they should offer a 'Limb-Removal-Avoidance 101' class at the Academy for all lightsaber weilders.

 

He only "loses" it because they creating a better one for him.

 

Does Mark Hamill getting his hand cut off in "Jay and Silent Bob Strike Back" count? Even if I tell you his reaction to it is "Not Again!"

How many times does Anakin Skywalker/ Darth vader gets a hand/limb cut off in films and novels and comics?

 

He gets his head chopped off.

 

I'm deeply concerned there are Dooku clones wandering around out there, made from the DNA of the severed hands rescued from an escape pod from the Invisible (lol) Hand.

There could be clones of the cantina dude, too.

 

Anakin/Vader has got his hand/robohand cut off so many times. Well it's blown off in the old Clone Wars Microseries. And i read a comic yesterday where Darth Vader's hand got cut off in a fight with 8 Jedi (which he got down to 3 but would have lost if unexpected stormtrooper re-enforcements wouldn't have arrived). I can't directly think of any others right now but i know it happens more than that. So at least 4 times, same hand.

I sometimes watch TCW but oddly enough i can't think of any hands getting cut off. I can think of one time a clone trooper got cut in half by a blast door off screen (still a disturbing sound for a mostly for kids show). But still, no hands.
