Help! I remember reading a novel where Wedge mentions that both he and Luke Skywalker have 2 Death Star emblems on their x-wings, to indicate 2 kills. Which novel has this? It's driving me crazy!

Wraith Squadron mentioned Wedge surviving both Death Star runs.
But Luke shouldn't have 2 Death Stars on his. He didn't take part in destroying the Second Death Star.

While i agree that Luke shouldn't get one, I swear I remember Wedge looking the "the only other person to have 2 Death Stars on his x-wing."

Which if the X-wing novels does Luke appear in? I think that's where it's mentioned.

    X-Wing 5: Wraith Squadron

The Wraiths are arguing about who is the best pilot still flying. The young squadron thinks their commanders (Wedge Antilles and Wes Janson) are "old" pilots who have lost their touch. When they asked Janson, he says "There has only been one pilot still active that survivied both Death Star runs. In that respect, Wedge Antilles is the best pilot flying."

I think that's the line you remember.

Remember though that Tycho has an Endor patch. Maybe that's what Luke has two of, Death Star campaign patches?

Tycho has an Endor/2nd Death Star patch because he was one of the pilots that flew into the second Death Star.

Luke appears at the end of "The Krytos Trap" (X-wing 3).

IMO, Wedge should be the only pilot with two Death Star patches, and I beleive that is mentioned somewhere.

I agree with Inyri. Wedge should be the only one with both patches.

Actually, it depends on if whoever was flying the Y-wing that survived Yavin was still around.

All we know for sure is that Wedge and Luke were the only Rogues to make it out of DS 1 alive.

Rogue Squadron, p 16: "The Endor tab had a black hole in the middle - he survived the Death Star run" (Nawara about Tycho)

Rogue Squadron, p 71: "Big Death Stars bracketed the collection of smaller ships" (Description of Wedge's fighter)

Wraith Squadron, p 89: "There's only one pilot who has survived two Death Star runs. From that perspective, Wedge Antilles is the best pilot ever" (Wes Janson)

At no point in the X-Wing novels are Lukes kill paintings or battle tabs discussed.

My opinion is that Luke has one Death Star (if he bothers to paint his kills at all), and Wedge has two. Possibly the other survivors of the DS1-battle has a Death Star, but I doubt it, since Luke & Wedge (ok, maybe Han too) were the only one to enter the trench. Lando should also be allowed to paint a DS (sorry all Wedge fans, but fair should be fair), but I don't think he want's to.

Probably all military personell serving in a campain receives a battle tab, but some markings are used to distinguish men and women who has executed special missions or deservs extra recognition, hence the black hole in the middle of the tab for those who entered DS2 and survived.

Wedge shouldn't get two death star kills because he only destroyed one.

    Luke destroyed the first one.

And technically Wedge should only get 1/2 of the Second Death Star, but that's not gonna happen.

Actually surviving a DS Run is so commendable, he gets the piccie on his snub fighter.

    And besides, it's Wedge! :)
