Does anyone know where to get the 20th century fanfare spotlight movie seen before every Star Wars movie starts?

From almost any DVD distributed by 20th Century Fox.

I used to have a good version back home. I'll check when I get back home and put it online if I still have it. Check back in 6 hours... I should be home by then :)

Why do you want the fox thing? I assume that your movie has nothing to do with Fox itself, so why do you want to put it in?

    Yup. What he said.

But I can get it for you, if you're that desperate and Glennth is a loser.

Not that he is, but if he does turn out to be a scrooge, I can get ya hooked up.

I kinda agree with the "why do you want the 20th Century Fox" fanfare on your FanFilm?
Is 20th Century Fox backing your film?

If not, I think you might want to shy away from cutting that footage onto your FanFilm.
    Creating your own 20th Century-esque fanfare, now that's a different story. ;)

I was wanting to create my own and use the original fox fanfare to match up the motion with mine. If its a problem don't worry about it. I just thought it would be nice to have similar imagery at the beginning of my fanfilm.

I actually found that site earlier. Looks like it is just the mp3s of the fanfare and not the whole video excerpt. Thank you though for posting the link.

The video appears at the beginning of virtually every Star Wars teaser and trailer.
If you got to this page you can DL the trailers in MOV format. These all include the 20th Century Fox video (no audio though, that's where the MP3s come in.)

Note: You need QT-Pro to view the LARGE versions, but the medium should be fine as a reference anyway.

    Have fun.

    [EDIT:

...and in case you need to know how to DL and use the video, here are instructions for MS Internet Explorer:

First, follow the links on the page and watch the entire video on your browser.
    Now it's on your system.
To get it, Choose Options... from IE's Tools menu.
Click the Settings... button in the Temporary Internet Files group.
    Click the View Files... button.
This will bring to you a folder with TONs of files.
Click search and search for "*.MOV"
Now you will get a list of all your QuickTime files, including the Star Wars teasers. Copy the file to your documents directory and have fun with your editor.

    /EDIT]

Thanks for the help Nick. As usual the answer was staring me in the face and it took someone else to explain it to me.

Fig: As for calling me a looser... tnx... just what I needed at the end of the day  :_|

    And back to the topic.
DarthRaze: Which format do you want the video in? DivX, Sorenson, MPEG?

I dug a little on my HDD, and found the DVD rip I had of the video, which I used for the exact same purpose. To make my own version of it. In fact I made a version for the orchestra I play in, and we used it in our latest concert, projected onto the silver screen :D
    You can see it here:

I still have the 3DSMax source for it (of course... wouldn't delete something I've spent many hours on ) and you can use that if you'd like... The scene is not perfect, but it does it's job well. Animation should be spot on though. Just remember to credit me... and 20th Century Fox of course :)

Well... Since the night is falling here in Norway, and I really want to go to bed (so that I'll be able to get to work tomorrow), I've made the video available in many versions. Download any of them as you see fit.

    Enjoy!

    Thanks mate :)

Anyhow... My ISP has just changed my IP adress, so my primary domain is temporarily down (perfect timing, huh?). But my secondary domain is still up, and you can just substitute www.whitestone.no in the URL I wrote above with whitestone.dnsalias.com and it should work again.
For the lazy people out there:

    *clickie*

My primary domain should be back in 24 hours, give or take.
