The first real concrete details about the series to come out so far: https://deadline.com/2019/05/kari-s...-stan-daniel-bruhl-emily-van-camp-1202619197/ August 2020 air date. A single director (Kari Skogland) for all of the episodes. Sharon Carter and Zemo possibly appearing. Anthony Mackie talked a little about the upcoming show during an interview with IMDB (a pretty good interview overall actually): Just on the rumor front (and not in that article) is that the Winter Soldier might have a lot of "new" about him. He will be dropping the WS title at some point in the series (maybe even before it starts), some new weapons (courtesy of Wakanda) , and a new look including uniform and .... hair style. Take that for what it's worth.
Thanks for posting. I’ll have to watch that at some point. I wouldn’t be surprised if Sebastian goes back to looking like WWII Bucky, he’s been pretty open about not liking the long hair personally. That’s fine and I expect it really. There’s no need to continue that look. Anyway, I am happy Sam gets the shield and mantle. He’s deserves a big push as I love how they rewrote his character in the movies. And Mackie’s an excellent actor. I hope Disney eventually releases these on blu ray or to own digitally. It’s going to be hard waiting to see this, the Hawkeye series (and Cassian’s SW series). Happy to hear Zemo might be back too.
I hope this does well. In the comics I do not know how well they sold but the series with Falcon as Cap did end. Shame too because it was very good.
This is the one Marvel Disney+ I'm looking forward to most. Love that Zemo and Sharon Carter are going to be back.
Zemo! Put him in dat Purple Hood by the end so we can get a Thunderbolts movie. If this is basically a way to get Zemo to creating the Thunderbolts I'm totally okay with that.
Yeah I won't be surprised to see a bit of surface level redemption for Zemo coming out of this that could easily sew the seeds for the Thunderbolts. I don't think he's going to be the bad guy, at all. Spoiler from a supposedly leaked series description from a few months ago: Spoiler Supposedly the US government recruits an "officially sanctioned" replacement for Captain America (ie. not Sam) and it ends up going sideways with the new Cap first going nuts then AWOL. Sam and Bucky are brought in to hunt the guy down. It intersects with the group Ultimatum trying to implement an old HYDRA plan for their own ends. Zemo wasn't mentioned in it but the similarities between replacement Cap and the assorted Winter Soldiers shown in CA:CW may make them go to Zemo to pick his brain for some insights. I could see him offering to help as a way to take some steps towards being released. Thinking something along the lines of Richard Gere's role as a mistrusted resource in The Jackal.
Spoiler Crazy replacement! Cap (if I recall it's during the time Original! Cap is on ice) is actually a storyline from the comics, so it's interesting that they maybe going down that road for the series.
Spoiler Yup, 1950s Cap. Zeno as Profiler would be amusing. What if he decides to mess with the government anyway...if they do not go with the leaked concept. And Zemo was lying about his redemption in T-Bolts comic too. I think duplicating Buck’s redemption is too easy a storyline, but what do I know?
Looks like the series might be delayed slightly, as production has halted to find a new location for shooting following the disasters in Puerto Rico. Still supposedly on target for this year, though.
Deadline mentioned it having an August release date in an article last week. https://deadline.com/2020/01/the-fa...oah-mills-cast-disney-plus-series-1202840180/
I knew I had this on for a reason. Thanks. and combo clip just shown (also included WandaVision and a pinch of Loki)... Sees Buck and
I've kinda gotten comfortable with the notion of him being pretty proficient with his wings over the course of the past five years since he first showed up in the MCU (not to mention that "MCU time" has stretched beyond current, real world time by a number of years). And in that 30 seconds they did manage to fit in a brief shot of him flying around with nary a shield in sight.
