What do the lyrics mean?

The lyrics are a line from the Celtic poem "Cad Goddeu" ("Battle of the Trees"). The line goes "Under the tongue root a fight most dread, and another raging, behind, in the head."


What language are the lyrics in?

Sanskrit, an ancient language that originated in India.


Where can I find the AOTC bonus track? Are there other extras out there?

You can only find the bonus track at Target. At Wal-Mart you can get a screen-saver, while at Best Buy you get a trading card.


What is the AOTC bonus track?

"On the Conveyor Belt", a cue that was only partially used in the final film.


Does Sony Classical have plans for an AOTC Ultimate Edition?

Not at the moment. But a petition was just started for a Complete Edition, that is, a release that is more in league with the Special Editions of the original scores than the Ultimate Edition of TPM.


Why does "Augie's Great Municipal Band" sound like "The Emperor's Theme"?

While it hasn't been confirmed by Williams, it does appear to be a lighter version of that ominous theme. The debate is still raging on, though.

Oh, I think we should add that it really IS the Emperor's Theme playing at the end of TPM in a lighty key.

Wow, well done...that covers the basics. I'm a relative music novice (I sing in the shower...the shower turns itself off) but this helps in a discussion of the musical elements of SW music.

 

Can I point out that the bonus track AOTC CD is available just about everywhere in the UK... so if you're really desperate to get it try ordering from amazon.co.uk! I wouldn't bother though, I have it and the bonus track is pretty weird and not really enjoyable.

 

Er, I love the bonus track. Too bad for those of us who don't.

 

Well, it's all a matter of personal opinion really isn't it? I just didn't really think it was anything special, or that it justified the extra £1.99 price (or however much it was) over the editions without the bonus track.

 

I got mine for $14.00 with the bonus track over here. Pretty inexpensive if you ask me.

 

Ah, that's because you don't live in the rip-off UK where everything is ridiculously overpriced. In fact I could buy the CD from Amazon.com in the states and have it shipped over here for a trifling extra fee. I almost did except I don't have a credit card, only a bank card which is only valid in Europe...

PS average price of a CD here is about £15, which translates to around $20. It doesn't sound much but it soon adds up. Plus books, video games and just about anything else useful or enjoyable is similarly overpriced. (Whining voice) It's just not fair!

There is a track after the Ewok Theme as the credits roll at the end of ROTJ. Does anyone know what it is called?

I don't have the OT soundtrack with me anymore. And I can't remember it anywhere else in the movies.

 

I'm pretty sure you're talking about the track "Luke and Leia."
