I am making a movie for a local film festival. I want to make an opening Logo like the "Lucasfilm Ltd" before my movie, but I dont want to have to pay for the animation program(plus I wouldnt know how to use the animation program)

Would one the local animation guys around here make one for me, I can't afford to pay you, but you will get a credit at the end of the movie.
    Thanks

I highly recommend you change your thread's title to "A little help with lucasfilm logo".

Secondly, I assume you want "Lewisfilm" instead of "Lucasfilm", is that correct?

Yes, I would like the Lucasfilm Ltd logo to say Lewisfilm. The movie that I am working on is a parody of several different movies and themes.

You could also try the After Effects 30 day tryout and go through the tutorials you find here. If you try hard you might be able to pull of the animation yourself by the end of the tryout period. You could also be very proud of yourself if you made it alone.

The tutorial says you have to have Adobe Illustrator, Adobe Photoshop and Adobe After Effects. I had seen similar rerenditions of the Lucasfilm logos on fanfilms. I cant afford any of the programs-though the free trial for After Effects is a certain download when I am ready to start post production on my movie. Im a little short on change, otherwise I would buy the programs and do it myself. I was hoping one of the guys that already knew how to do it and wasnt working on a film, could do it for me.

You don't really need Illustrator. It can be handy, but it's possible to create the images with Photoshop alone.
