Obi-Wan says that the Force runs through all living things. As we found in ep I, Midichlorians are part of the force, and without them, we could not exist. In the Zahn Trilogy, HttE, DFR, TLC, the ysalamiri supposedly create a bubble in which the force is nonexistent. Numerous times throughout the books, Grand Admiral Thrawn, Captain Pellaeon, and other Imperials are inside these bubbles. Wouldn't the ysalamiri eliminate the Force while they were in the bubbles, killing them?? Also, the vornskrs use the Force to hunt, and they live on Myrkr, which is thriving with ysalamiri. How would they hunt with th eforce, if the ysalamiri created a bubble within which the force was nonexistent? And, since there were so many ysalamiri on the planet, the bubble would extend over it entirely. This is just a question, if any of you could help me out, I'd appreciate it.

If I recall, Luke was able to use the Force on Mrykr until he went inside the forest/jungle where they lived.

As for the Ysalamiri killing Thrawn, Pelleaon, ect, it's seems fitting. They're using the Force Bubble to protect themselves, when in reality it's only slowly posioning their systems.

THe part about the vornskors Is that the ysalimiri use that to protect themselves from the vornskors. Another therory Obi-wan did not know about the yaslimiri. Also I think that they project a bubble that makes the force non exsistant But maybe there still is a little force? These are probaly all wrong but th\ey are my opinions.

didn't luke mention something about how he was trying to find a way to use the force inside a ysalamiri bubble? i think the ysalamiri bubble thing is an illusion, the force still exsists there, but the jedi can't reach it, or find a way to usee it or something.

Well, the books with the Ysalamiri are before Episode One. Also, what happens in the books are not official official . . . the movie is the law for it i think.

I know this is slightly OT, but did anyone else notice how in Jedi Outcast it was spelled ysalamari instead of ysalamiri? It was pronounced that way too.

"One method of detection is through blood sampling -- those with great Force potential often have high midi-chlorian counts in their bloodstream."-starwars.com

Also Ysalimiri block the force from others to use, but according to the guide to aliens they still are connected to the force themselves. Vornskrs for instance have evolved ways to use the force inside the force bubbles to a small degree.

What I think that happens is that the Ysalamiri stop the force in their bubble, but does not kill the midichlorians inside a person, just puts thaem kinda to sleep.

The forest where the ysalamiri live is infact effected by the cretures themselves. When in groups they reinforce themselves, making the no-force bubble bigger. this bubble extends through out the forest, a little beyond it and over it as well.

AS i recall, Luke did infact find a way to get past the ysalimiri effect. I don't where where this was but he said that instead of spending years trying to beat ysalimiri and tuning his saber to cut through cortosis ore, he should ahve been trying to do whatever. I'm not too sure on this though.

As for the bubble itself, i think that it doesn't exactly push out the force, but cloads it somehow so creatures using it are unable to, or it makes it harder to use it. This leads into why they even have their bubbles. Since vorsknors use the force to hunt, the ysalimiri protect themselves form them by "cloading" the force around them, making them undetectable to force-sensitives.

So, when Luke describes the the buuble as being void of the force, it may be that he just can't detect it becasue his connection to it is being clouded to it in that space....
