I know it's now pretty widely recognized that May 4th is Star Wars Day. But it could plausibly be said that May 1st should be the day, since that was when the movie was first publicly shown (at the Northpoint Theater in San Francisco). As for me, being a first-generation fan, I prefer to mark it on May 25th, when it went into general release nationwide, including at the late, lamented Menlo Park Twin (off Rt. 1, near Woodbridge, NJ). That's when I wear my Rebel Alliance tie to work. So, when do you prefer to observe the occasion?
I think it solely has to do with the fact that may the fourth works better than may the 1st when it comes to spoofing may the force be with you
Think it's mostly a thing because of how May the 4rth sounds exactly like May the force... Gesendet von meinem Nokia G22 mit Tapatalk
May 4th is picked because it's a pun and because it's before the May releases of George's films. And it's exactly 3 weeks before the release date of the original Star Wars.
