I'm not sure why, but when I start a new project from scratch, start a new composition, and import a video.....they all seem to want to play at 15fps!

I'm not sure why it's doing this, cuz it wasnt before! Even in the TIME CONTROL window, the FRAME RATE block can say 30...but it still plays the stuff super fast, like as if it were playing in 15 fps!

It isnt just happening with new projects, I've opened other ones I've made, before the frame rate error started, and they play fast to!

But if you double click the file from the list from the left side....that plays at normal speed!?!

    Whats up with my settings?

Either, your composition is set to 15fps, or in the time window on the right, in the fps it has 15fps set..

Are you playing it from RAM? That will slow it down.

RAM will play it full speed, actually, as long as you're doing "RAM Preview".

Aside from the footage and composition settings, AE itself also has a "default" setting that will sometimes override the footage. For my system, 30fps is the default, sounds like yours may have been changed. If AE's default is 15fps, it will load 30fps footage and change it to 15fps. Then any compositions you make with that footage will also be 15fps.

If you're wondering how it changed, I think AE occasionally changes the default if you start loading a bunch of footage at a certain framerate.. i.e. if you load fifty clips at 30fps, it will stay at 30, but if you start loading up clip after clip at 24fps, it will eventually change the default to 24.

Yeah, you're right! I think I meant to say 60 frames per second!

Jedi2016.....if that's the case, is there any way I can turn my After Effects Default setting(s) back to normal?

I know for a fact that any videos I upload havent gone as high as 60 fps(the correct frame rate that all my clips have been playing at!)

Also, the composition frame rate can be set to 30fps and so can the time controls, but everything in RAM Preview still plays fast!

Help me Obi Wan Kenobi, you're my only h........dy mean....

Beside the frame rate(s) remaining at 30, does anyone else know why mine plays at 60 fps? <-----the frame rate I meant to say, not 15!
