I have found it is a very quick way to make scrambled eggs by breaking an egg into a coffee mug and microwaving for like 40 or 50 seconds. But I usually only do that if I am feeling lazy, so yes I agree with you.

This is more lazy and morally reprehensible than trying to live off welfare just because you don't feel like working, even though you are perfectly capable in terms of natural abilities, physical, familial, social, and financial circumstance.

You gave yourself two votes, you fraud!! <img src="http://img511.imageshack.us/img511/749/angryse6wh2.gif">

Also, I once tried to hard-boil an egg in the microwave.

It blew up like a miniature grenade and spread Pyrex shrapnel around the kitchen.

I think one day I will write "24" fanfic about this.

Ok, I admit I'm lazy and weird. So sue me.

edit: And also morally reprehensible, apparently. :p

Nothing fraudulent about it! I knew A_B would be with me!

Had you managed to kill yourself in the process, this incident would have made a brilliant Darwin Awards episode.

I highly approve of laziness...but microwaved eggs taste horrible!

Add one vote to the "Agree" count.

Is it possible to make a fried egg in the microwave?

I do not understand how to make a fried egg so that the edges are not burned AND the yolk isn't still gross. Whenever I leave it on long enough so the yolk isn't still gross the edges are always burned. Scrambled eggs I understand just fine, but the fried egg, forget about it.

Ah, Andalite, I too dislike fried eggs with the runny, half-cooked yolk.

A_B, I usually cook on medium heat or below with butter or olive oil. That seems to work for me.

I didn't even know people microwaved eggs. I guess you learn something new everyday.

    Disagree.

But making pasta in the microwave is.
My Italian flatmates looked like I had gone completely mad when I did that. And yes, it's just because I'm lazy. And don't own a pot.

I only make ready-made meals and leftovers in the microwave. Cooking basic fare isn't that hard.

Microwaves are the most useless kitchen appliances ever. Everything most people do in a microwave can be done on a cook top better with only minimal extra time.

Popcorn? I can make a gallon on the cooktop in about 7 minutes and it's a million times tastier and healthier. It's also cheaper per unit produced. I've never done the math, but the oil, popcorn, and salt can all be had for under 5 dollars and nets you way more than a comparably priced package of microwave popcorn when all is said and done.

Boiling water? Slap a lid on the pot and heat it on high. You can boil 12 cups of water in about 5 minutes and don't have to worry about super-heating the water and having it flash to steam in your face.

A can of soup? It takes around 5 minutes and it's not still cold in the middle.

A Hot Pocket? Why would anyone even eat one? Just take it out of the package and drop it into the toilet. That cuts out the middleman.

Egg? You can boil an egg in 15 minutes, while scrambled and fried eggs benefit from browning, so the microwave is useless.

Melting butter? This is the only thing I use the microwave for. It wont burn in the microwave.

Oh, and I use it to warm tortilla shells when I make burritos because, like butter, it wont burn in the microwave.

Agree. If you cook eggs in a microwave, you're lazy.

Heating them up if their cold: no. But to cook them first yes.

I have never cooked eggs in the microwave and find the idea to be weird and disturbing.

Yeah, i don't understand the whole microwaving eggs thing. i didn't even know it was possible until about two years ago. It tasted fine, but I think it actually takes longer to microwave eggs than to scramble them on the stove. you only avoid washing a pan. And then you can have your eggs nice and dry.

Not necessarily. It could be an attempt to save water by dirtying fewer dishes, or done because one wants eggs but the stove is awaiting repairs.
