I saw this photo a couple of days ago and I didn't really think much of it, didn't know the context, so I just kinda glanced over and closed it, thinking it's just a younger Alec Guinness. Now that I've seen your title and looked at it a bit more closely, it's stunning. It's a perfect mix of Alec and Ewan
The hair looks really unnatural, like the face isn't properly integrated. Also, I think the face looks a bit like Qui-Gon, mixed with Obi-Wan.
Ewan was awesome as Obi-Wan. Obviously it wasn't all about looks though. Ewan and a young Guinness don't look alike.
Well, it was one of the best casting decisions to be done. Not only is Ewan a good actor in his own right, but the similarities to Guinness helped seal the deal.
They really were quite lucky to find a young, professional actor who both bore an uncanny resemblance to Alec Guinness and had genuine talent.
That is fabulous. I thought Ewan was magnificent in the role. They way they made his appearance more and more like AlecGuinness' as the three PT films went on was a joy to watch. It really helped me see the continuity of the character.
I was doing this as a project at one point - showing the age progression of characters through the series (Obi-Wan, Anakin, Palpatine). I haven't found time to complete any of it, but here's the work in progress of Ep. 3. to 4 that I finished. That first image is pretty cool, but the hair isn't really Obi-Wan. Also, this was the halfway point I arrived at:
Fun to see this young to mature Obi-Wan fan art continuing. I will be so darn happy if they announce the Obi-Wan spin off at Celebration in April.
ears and nose ard kinda close, but the chins and skull shapes are where it gets off for me. Id like to see the 5 year point for Anakin and Obi Wan for 27BBY.
This is really incredible. Despite the hair looking slightly off, you can imagine this being a few years after ROTS, maybe Obi-Wan has let himself go slightly, and needs a haircut.
