    I couldn't find another (active) thread regarding this most excellent band, and with the biggest holiday of the year coming up on Monday, we'd better get ready!

    Death Throes of the Terrorsquid

    In other news, they were playing in my city just last night and I couldn't go for reasons that were cancelled later anyway. :mad: I'm telling myself that at least I saved money.

    Now, let's all discuss our favorite Scottish pirate metal bands.

    Beating Molly is better than either of these two.

    Flogging Molly is punk, Wocky.

    And also has nothing to do with pirates.

    Well if this other group is so great, how come they've never been featured in a movie I saw one time?

    I like Swashbuckle, but for whatever reason I never felt the same "loyalty" to them as I do to Alestorm. :p It might just be that Alestorm has a better band name...

    The name of this band annoys me. It would be a really clever name if it were "Alestrom" because then it would be like, you know... a Maelstrom. Which is pictured on that album cover.

    Strom =/= Storm, idiots.

    Saw them at Gramercy in NYC last year, they were pretty awesome. Swashbuckle is garbage though! :p

    Alestorm is pretty cool, however the Swiss and Nordic metal bands will forever reign supreme.

    Also, if you don't laugh at least once during that Korpiklaani video then you are odd.

    Wait, are we just broadening this to generic folk metal? Then I'm obligated to mention Finntroll.

    And then you realized it was just Ostrich_Stapler? :p

    I always kind of wondered why they didn't go with the name "Alestrom" too. [face_thinking] I'm guessing somebody in a management position somewhere decided it would just be misspelled as "Storm" anyway so they just used that.

    I think you all missed my note about ending the thread after calling people idiots for not knowing how to spell "maelstrom."

    Interesting.

    I'm not a fan of the excessively high tempo found in so much metal, that this song has. But the chorus is pretty cool.
