The box better not be a flimsy digipak ala SW Trilogy. I know it comes apart horizontally, but still, no flimsy crap.

Nope unless you want it to get them in snapper cases from 99-00 ish. :( What they should've done is release this set then do what they did with the Godfather, release them individually then skimp on the extras.

I already have those, but I'd like to see some of the special featues for Batman and Batman Returns. Eh, I can't have everything.

They sell them Individually for about $18 each!

    18 x 4 = 72, so...

You save more money by getting the box set.

That's what I was saying before. But you get the crappy snapper case and not as many special features. Buy the entire boxset and beef up your library. I won't watch B&R but it'll still be there. ;)

    $18 x 3 = $54.

    DVD Box set = $52

So, basically you get Batman & Robins for Free, if you don't like it, sell it or something...

YOU EVEN MAKE A FEW DOLLARS!

Are you nevertheless planning to pick up this DVD set? I have the ?bare bones? set, entitled The Batman Legacy, that was previously issued by Warner Bros, and the extra features on this new 8-Disc Anthology seem enticing enough for me to consider purchasing this item.

only the original one (and now Batman Begins) are actually worth watching - the rest is garbage.

Batman Returns has its moments, as does Batman Forever (although I could do without some of the bombastic set pieces and Joel Schumacher?s fixation with interspersing close-shots of his protagonists? armored buttocks throughout several of the montage sequences). The frequently maligned Batman and Robin is, however, almost entirely without merit ? unfortunate, considering the talent involved in its production.

So, basically you get Batman & Robins for Free, if you don't like it, sell it or something...

    [face_laugh]

I read a review in the current edition of Entertainment Weekly, in which they praised this 8-Disc set rather effusively. The writer mentioned that on the commentary track for Batman and Robin, director Joel Schumacher actually apologizes for the film at one point. That particular audio track, said to be rife with revelatory tidbits, might redeem the picture's inclusion in the otherwise attractive DVD box set.

I tried to find the old versions in stores without any luck, then found out about these new versions. I didn't even look at what the difference is. I just want the movies (Batman and Batman Returns, not the other two!), so I ordered them yesterday along with Batman Begins.
    Convenient release date ;)
