Hey all, I love bagpipes as one or 2 of you may know. :D

Uh, and I was just wondering if any of you knew some really great bagpipe pieces or even just personal favorites of yours.

My favorite at the moment is "The Legend Spreads" from the Braveheart soundtrack.

Now, I don't need 10 people saying "Amazing Grace", I know that sounds awesome on bagpipes.

Well, you can't beat 'Scotland the Brave', especially when performed by the Caledonian Pipes & Drums.

And wasn't there some bagglepipes in Titanic?

I already have Scotland the Brave. :(

Does anyone have any tracks from Braveheart? I really love the 'pipes in that soundtrack the best! :)

I have the Braveheart soundtrack on CD. It's a great score all around, and I do love the bagpipes cues.

Can't think of any other noteworthy bagpipe pieces, though...

From the Braveheart OST, try the bagpipe solo in the beginning of the very first track ("Main Title"), for starters.

Also, from the "More Music From Braveheart" CD, there's "Outlawed Tunes on Outlawed Pipes" and "Scottish Wedding Music" that are both really good pieces.

Also, there's Garryowen. Quite a haunting piece, espescially when you consider it's (rumored to be) one of the last pieces of music Custer listened to right before Crazy Horse ate his lunch.

And don't forget the classic song from Deliverance. I think it was called "Duelling Bagpipes"

Damn... I don't know the names of any of these songs, but I can hum them to you - my dad has played the Northumbrian pipes for years, so I have these pieces imprinted on my brain.
