Alton Towers Meet? (As suggested by TheDarthVader)

Hi guys.

Well, this thread is for anyone who might be interested in having a meet up at Alton Towers? I think it's a great idea for a meet up, and the best place for us all to actually get to know each other.

Please post suggestions for time and date ect......

This is the official FanForce extension of the other thread, "We need more Star Wars in the UK!!!":

The idea to coordinate more events was suggested by myself, but, it was actually Parm and Chris who suggested Alton Towers.

A good time, early July, as suggested by Chris would be ideal. This allows us to go before most schools have broken up.

 

I'll support Vader and say more meet ups was his idea, Alton Towers was Parm's, I just supplied the date

I'd prefer pretty early July as I'm going to America on the 19th. But don't let that stop you from having it later, I'll be with you in spirit whenever you go!

I'd be interested, but I am going home in Germany June 5.

 

this will be one of our many meetings. I am sure, you will have the chance to attend another, in the near future, even if you miss this one

 

I'd be interested of course, and I always drag my girlfriend along lol.

 

whatever happens, in the beginning is likely to be small, but it will still be a start. If we start now we will be in a position to do something larger for Halloween.

 

Count me in too. I've never been to Alton Towers before.

 

Neither have I. As I child I always wanted to go there. It will good to see Alton Towers, especially if it is full of SW fans, even if it is only a small part.

 

I usually go there every year, and it's fab.
In my opinion, the one place really worth visiting in the UK.

 

with that in mind, imagine Alton Towers plus loads of SW fans.

Good Weather + Alton Towers + Star Wars Fans = ?

If we have sufficient fans attending, we will need to organize other activities at Alton Towers. We will have to arrange activities at the Hotel e.t.c., I don't think it is enough to just rely on the rides, we will need to organise some SW based pastimes as well.

 

Let's get the interest in Alton Towers up first, then we can brain storm with everyone for ideas on what else to do!

 

I would go guys... but im on a european tour for 2 months in summer and unless it was like before 29th May i cant go

It seems appropriate, that we should start spreading the word through the forums. Would it be a good idea to set up a website?

 

I think a post in FanForce UK is a must. Maybe Newteh could use his site to promote it? We'll pass along details as they become available here and tell everone that his site has all the facts so far?

I think we also need to post it on the OS UK forums, but should probably leave that until we have it a little more sorted.

Anyone know about the 501st? I would be great if we could get them interested.

 

we could ask thebrit about the 501st, he is like one of the ultimate troopers. He has ran the NY marathon in Stromtrooper amrour, not once but twice.

Alton Towers sounds brilliant - exams end 27th June so any time after that count me in!

I'm really interested in this but if your planning it early July then its a no go for me as I'm off to Gran Canaria for 2 weeks from the 9th.
