Am I the only one that practices this sort of insanity. Today I was browsing through the TV Guide and noticed that 'Raiders of the Lost Ark' was on tonoght on the USA Network. I was like, "Ooooh, I gotta watch it, how cool". I then made a sandwich and sat down to watch ,but quickly got disenchanted and annoyed by all the commercial breaks. My gaze wandered and I then spotted what was sitting atop of my television set. It was the DVD of Raiders. What the hell is wrong with me? I'll actually go out of my way to watch a movie on television that I already have on DVD. I did this just the other night with 'Meet the Parents'. Sheesh... Don't worry, my Friday nights aren't usually this boring, I just am throwing a huge BBQ tomorrow. Am I alone here?

The TV stations are crazy for not making it widescreen, putting too many commercials in, and editing out content.

There's nothing more annoying than a movie you love that is butchered beyond belief cutting out language, violence, and nudity. And they also throw in a few commercials.

    Yet I still watch them.

I believe that insanity is the correct answer.

I see that it is on TV, then make sure I start the DVD the EXACT same time as it starts on TV - finish it half an hour earlier and laugh at all the saps that are still watching the end.

Well on Sky in the UK movies don't have adverts, and are in widescreen (at least, you can choose that option if you want). So if there's a movie on that I've got, and happens to be starting when I'm watching TV... then I can watch it with no problems.

NB: The only problem being I can't pause it if I need to use the toilet.
