Am I the only one that can't stand Luke?

i hate him. hes so annoying. am I the only one?

 

Nope. I don't hate him but he's never been one of my favorite characters.

 

He has to be at least a little annoying, after all, he is Anakin's son (Anakin=most annoying character in cinematic history). That said, I like Luke.

 

I like Luke. He was a good character.

 

Luke was awesome in ROTJ in my opinion...not the same Luke that wanted to go to Toshi station, in my opinion...he was choking Gammorean guards and threatening to destroy Jabba...he was a totally serious character...his maturity level jumped the more Jedi-like he became... he was supposed to be a whiny kid before, that was the point. I remeber growing up, we all wanted to be Luke, and whoever couldn't be Luke had to fight for the second choice of Han Solo... I don't remeber anyone saying..."I wanna be Lando, I wanna be Lando."

 

Do you have any sort of, I don't know... REAL reason not to like him?

Single most annoying line since the beginiing of motion pictures.

 

I don't really care for him in ANH and and the begining ESB, but he's great in the at end of ESB and all ROTJ.

 

Wow, I'm surprised you don't like him. I don't think Star Wars would ever have been such a big hit in the first place if people hadn't of liked Luke Skywalker. He is the ultimate heroic character of modern movies!

 

Luke is okay. Yes he whines (which is very annoying) In the end he matures and rebuilds the Jedi you all must learn not to look at just the OT and look beyond to the expanded Universe.

Yes. I find it odd that someone can like Star Wars and hate the main character. Not flaming, just answering your question.

 

No, I don't hate him. I do find his whining in ANH a bit annoying, but no more so than Anakin's in AotC.

 

This was always a problem for me, but then Hasbro started providing stands with little pegs that you can put into the sole's of their feet, and then they never fall over.

I don't really hate Luke, and I don't really like him either. I don't like Mark Hamill... Just can't take him seriously. But I think he's great in ROTJ. He understands his role and isn't afraid of it. 'Because fear leads to anger!'

 

Luke is awesome, but my favorite character is his father, Anakin Skywalker/Darth Vader ... Han Solo is a character people love but i don't really care for all that much ... i'm definetly more of a Luke fan than a Han fan ...

When I was younger Luke was always my favorite character.He IS the main character in the OT after all.Now I like Anakin/Vader the most but Luke is never far behind.They are both great,but very different of course.I think that Anakin is the Tragic Hero of the story and Luke is the Traditional Hero.
But originally Luke was definitely my favorite...

 

Luke was supposed to be annoying in ANH. Then he matured throughout the Trilogy until RotJ when he became one of the best characters.

I like Luke, definately on my top 5 list of favorite characters. I liked him the best in TESB and ANH, he was allright in ROTJ but still my favorite character from that film, besides Lando that is.

 

Strangely, I find Luke really annoying but I still love him.

Luke just doesn't come across masculine as much as the other central adult males in the SW Saga.
I'm not sure if its MH or the way GL wanted him played.

 

No. I don't hate Luke Skywalker. As a kid I used to put on a motorcycle helmet (x-wing helmet) and carry around a yellow wiffle-ball bat (lightsaber) and pretend I was Luke Skywalker. His character IS Star Wars to me.

 

One annoying line (Toshi station reference..)doesn't make for an annoying character. I liked Solo better, and Obi-Wan is my overall favorite..but the OT revolved around him and the eventual redemption of his father. It was necessary for the character to come off as young and immature in ANH. I agree that you can't hate him and be a fan of these movies.

 

I get annoyed with complaints.

"Anakin was too young."
"Luke was too whiny."
"Greedo shot first."

I have no complaints over any character or plot-line. Six flawless films that I love and enjoy.
