Am I the only one who can't stand it when Anakin calls Ashoka ''snips''.

I am the entire clone wars for the first time and I like most of it but Anakin calling his apprentice snips is really aggrevating. Seriouslly what does snips even mean?

I like the pet name thing but agree they could've chosen much better ones to use.

This thread should be stickied, because it's going to be fantastic. ;)

    It never bothered me.

She was snippy. That's what it means.

And I loved it. In fact, I missed it when they abandoned it in seasons 3-5, and thought his calling her Snips again was one of the only good things about the fugitive arc.

Did you watch The Clone Wars the movie first? She gets the nickname in their for being "snippy". I watched it on Netflix and did the same thing not thinking there was a separate movie to start out the series.

Yeah, I am the senate. ;)

It was deliberately done , like her calling him skyguy. Was meant to be annoying and cute at the same time. As we were watching Anakin's and Ashoka's relationship mature over the course of seasons, and how it and the war in general affected them.

Didn't bother me. :) They were both nuggets then and the nicknames disappeared over the course of their relationship.

The nicknames are toned way down for the back half of the series. When it does randomly pop up again, it's more of a term of affection Anakin has for "Snips". You know things are serious when he actually calls her "Snips" in the later seasons because it's recalling how close and carefree their mentorship started. So it's basically kind of annoying at the start and becomes an affectionate callback later on.

I loved it. I had a similar typo a few months ago when I was typing in a hurry. But this was priceless. I had one of my laughing spells, and it went on for four minutes. I was crying by the time it was over. If you are the entire Clone Wars, you must be a lot of battles, planets, political controversy, and interesting people. You are a history book I would love to read. Luke said the timeline of the Clone Wars is confusing, though. I'll jump in!

So take me away, I don't mind,
but you better promise me I'll be back in time.

No, seriously, this is surreal. I keep waiting for my old self to drop by to hate on Ahsoka.

    Oh, wait, here he is.

The power of hate is a curious thing
Make one man weep, make another man sing

You don't need money! Don't take fame!
Don't need no credit card to ride this train
It's strong and it's sudden and it's cruel sometimes
But it might just save your life
    That's the power of hate

Have not seen the clone wars movie since 2008 so my memory about said film are pretty foggy.

    I liked it.
Implied Anakin saw Ahsoka as a little sister.

I always thought Snips was a better nickname than SkyGuy(though not by much).

I would take all the "Snips" and "Skyguys" in the world if it meant every one else would end up hating her as much as I do and the show is universally ignored. OR I prefer the nicknames and childish/weakling movie Ahsoka to the latter "OMG I'm sooooo much better than ALLL the Jedi scum and I am a Jedi master before puberty with a year of training because Filoni needs the fanboys to LURVE me" Ahsoka.

She sounds like whoever photoshopped Filoni getting punched in the face by a group of East Asian fanboys over on google image search. I kid.;)

I don't dislike Tano, found her a bit annoying in the beginning but then gave TCW more of a chance by late season two and she got a lot more likable as did the show.

If Filoni ever has Tano do something really insane and stupid, like kill Maul, I'd join the Filoni haters. [face_shame_on_you][face_devil]

I like nicknames. "Artooey" was kind of stupid but Goldie worked, and Stinky was, well, spot-on.

"Skyguy" was worth it just for Anakin's reaction when she first uses it.

Seems like Filoni thinks "mature" means boring srs bsns. Yet...we're supposed to think this propensity to watch documentaries about farm equipment and book-binding "maturity" is an improvement over the first two seasons and something the characters who still have a sense of humor are supposed to aspire to?

    No thanks.

If we were going to have an Ahsoka who formed a rift with the rest of the Jedi, it would have been better if she had called Yoda "Kermit" and the rest of the Masters "the Council of Old Farts" or something.

That would have been a Council vs Ahsoka conflict I could have enjoyed.

I like the nickname Snips and I think Skyguy is kind of funny as well....But I agree Artooey was stupid.

As for Ahsoka leaving the Jedi Order, she didn't leave because she thought she was better than the Jedi. She left because she realized the Jedi weren't as perfect as they chalked themselves up to be. She realized that something was wrong with the Order and she had to step back and figure it out from a distance. Oh, and also the fact that the Jedi Masters were willing to sacrifice Ahsoka to save face value.
