I heard that in the dark nest trilogy Luke discovers a hologram of Anakin & Padme on Mustafar and one of anakin telling padme about his dream. I've been trying to get these books since they came out but obviously haven't bought them yet I can't seem to find them anywhere. But I really want to read these parts could someone post excerpts from these scenes. is it an ongoing thing throughout the trilogy? and does R2 record everything or what's going on there? I would love to read it.
It is just like the movie except that it is accompanied by Dennings interpretation of the scene through his characters which I completely disagreed with. Anyway you prolly can check them all out for free in any main library - or buy them used on Amazon for pennies...I think it was in the 2nd part - but maybe the 3rd.
Basically, the Dark Nest Trilogy showed each Anakin/Padme scene from ROTS, plus a few extra scenes that weren't in the movie. Luke needed to find out what happened to his mother because Lomi Plo was using Luke's doubt to hide herself from detection (it sounds corny and believe me, it is). R2-D2 didn't want to show Luke those scenes because he thought it might emotionally damage Luke. Once Luke finally finds out Padme's ultimate fate, he was able to defeat Lomi Plo.
IIRC, didn't one of the "hologram scenes" between Padme and Anakin have a different conversation compared to the film at as well?
I'd be interested in seeing those sections up as well. The whole subplot they were involved in was inexplicably left out of the audiobooks. Normally, that wouldn't be so much of a problem, save that the local library- which I rely on for a LOT of my SW reading material- sold all their print copies of the DNT, so the audiobooks are all I have to rely on. So it's been several years now since I've been able to read them and refresh my memory of the subplot in question.
Just as a note, while it's ok to cite some excerpts from the books, posting whole sections will not be permitted here. That said, it shouldn't be too difficult to track down a copy of the books to read them for yourself, as they only came out about 5 years ago (and, IMO, were pretty awesome reads if you can get past the giant bugs thing- very intense, gritty and complex, and the best presentation of Jacen outside of Traitor). But, it's not too difficult to figure out what the recordings were of- between the ROTS film and ROTS novelization, you have the majority of the content R2 plays right there. ::glances at his CV-signed copy of the DNT hardcover::
Well, it was explained that Artoo hacked into the Jedi Temple's security holocams in order to ensure that Padme would be safe to be around Anakin.
Well, that sure doesn't explain when the scenes were at Padme's house and R2 was with Anakin somewhere else.
Used mass market novels are really cheap. Really, really cheap. You won't be spending much at all. It's probably better to buy new copies to support the writers etc etc, but seeing as you just want them to read a particular scene, going used should be fine. Then, if you have no further use for the novels, you could be a good person and donate them to your library or something, so the next person to come along wouldn't have to buy them.
Yeah, the resale value for used SW books is nonexistent. You can get them used on, say, amazon, for a penny each, so all you gotta do is pay for shipping.
