Do you guys think Anakin enjoyed every single piece of clothe that Padme wore in AOTC? It appears so in the Geonosian Arena.

Anakin(glancing at Padme and her torn dress): You call this a diplomtic solution?

Padme: No, I call it agressive negotiations.

think it would be neat if Padme was still wearing her naboo pilot uniform when she addressed the senate, or when she entered palpatines office.

You know, Padme's... revealing outfits really don't make any sense from the story point of view. Honestly, Anakin is constantly making comments about how he's obsessed with her, so she decides that during the time she's stuck with him she's going to wear a bunch of dresses that will probably make him go even more crazy over her? Honestly... she may be a smart politician, but she doesn't know too much when it comes to trying to avoid a stalker...

Now you're catching on. She was saying one thing while her body language and choice of clothes said another. It's conflict. If you pay attention then it comes as no surprise when she tells Anakin she's been dying a little each day since he came back into her life. She never didn't like him, her words and resistances were temporary. She was trying to hide her feelings, but it wasn't working.

    I'm sure he did. If I were a guy, I know I would. ;)

Yes, they do. They are meant to show that even though Padme won't admit she has feelings for Anakin in the first part, she clearly does; It's expressed through her body language and clothing throughout the movie.

Honestly, Anakin is constantly making comments about how he's obsessed with her, so she decides that during the time she's stuck with him she's going to wear a bunch of dresses that will probably make him go even more crazy over her? Which would be true, if Anakin were stalking her. He might be a bit obsessive, but he is not a stalker. Stalkers can't take 'no' for no-Anakin not only accepts it but even respects Padme's decision that they can't fall in love and they couldn't live a lie. After that, it's always Padme who initiates contact between them; Anakin actually more or less leaves her alone.

I'm always curious why people consider Anakin a stalker. I mean, I knew there are a few "clunkers" in the dialogue that could lead someone to that, but his actions lead as far away from 'stalker' as possible.

But the trouble is that Padme's frequent change of costumes makes her seem to be rather shallow, especially during the Tatooine sequence, and it stretches the creditablity of her character. Or maybe she just has terrible BO problems. That might be it.

GL is just helping out a new generation of young boys. He gave us old timers from the original trilogy Leia in a slave outfit so he is giving us another princess we would all like to rescue ....in many ways. He couldn't have picked a better young lady than Nat.

He is not a stalker. He was letting things be. She is the one that wore a freakin black leather outfit with cleavage (amazing in itself) and those dominatrix gloves. All she neede was the whip. I'd say that Vader liked that black leather. He took it up for the rest of his life, as well as being domineering, for that matter.

I'm sick of the "stalker" crap. If anyone was out of line, it was the 24 year old Senator playing with a teen boy's heart, by dressing in a siren's clothes while giving him the cold shoulder. Knowing that he had the hots for her, it was cruel.

All those costume changes made Padmé rather obsessed with her own appearance. And I'm sure poor Anakin got a bit annoyed about having to wait for her to change her clothes every 5 minutes.

So, you're saying that if someone acted toward you the same way Anakin acted toward Padme you wouldn't mind? Frankly, if I were in her place, I'd be pretty damn frightened.

This stalker issue has always been ridiculous because we're talking about a movie, not real life. Moreover the movie in question is more akin to a fairy tale or legend than anything else...Find me evidence of "stalker" behavior in myths and legends and I might entertain the idea--and not current pop--psychology takes on stories either!!!

That being said, her clothes are supposed to contrast her words--equivalent to the ever popular--"says one thing, does another."

And if you watch the shifting POV's of A/P throughout the film, you can see how they were always making eye contact with one another. I'm not sure if this is just skillful editing or real interaction, but it's there.

I laughed when in TPM Obi-Wan said to Qui-Gon that they didn't have any money to barter with "just the Queen's wardrobe". LOL

ALL of Padme's clothing is gorgeous in AOTC. I wish I could raid her wardrobe.

Personally, I would have liked Anakin's costume more if it had been shredded up a bit. :D

Okay so like, at Celebration II, they had all the actors/actresses' costumes out on display. You could even touch them. Surprisingly they weren't very guarded or supervised. I spent a good portion of my day there touching the white Amidala battle outfit.
